How to Convert Character Materials
Available in Version 1.3
Version 1.3 introduces a new feature wherein you can convert Gemstones, Chunks, Fragments, and Slivers of a certain element into a different element.
Needs Dust of Azoth Item
A new item that will be introduced in the Version 1.3 Update of Genshin Impact is needed to covert Character Materials.
It will be used as an additional cost to convert Gemstones, Chunks, Fragments, and Slivers into that of a different element.
Requires Alchemy Table to Craft
The Alchemy Table will add a new feature that will let you convert materials.

Conversion of each material is 1:1. The Dust of Azoth cost will depend on the rarity of the material to be converted.
Change what materials to use freely
By clicking the recipe in the corner, it looks like you will be able to freely choose which material you wish to convert. This makes this addition to 1.3 a much easier way to get materials from the bosses you struggle against, like the often hated Oceanid for example!

Indeed. More than 3 years later and this is still one of the things that irks me about this game. I have over 400 resin worth of "extra" boss materials from all the times I was sitting on 17 and got a 2-drop instead of a 3-drop. leaving me at 19 and forced to spend 40 resin for 1 single boss drop. Instead, I could be transmuting 2 of the several dozen extra boss drops I already have to get the 20 mats I need for that final ascension.
