To unlock the Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark quest, you will need to reach Adventure Rank 35 or above and complete the Chapter 2: Act 4: Requiem of the Echoing Depths!

| 1 | A Forest of Change • Head to the marked location to trigger a cutscene. • Follow the woman up until you find a cave. • During the dream sequence, simply head up to the big tree until you trigger another cutscene. |
| 2 | Further Observation • Head outside after the cutscene and find Collei and Tighnari. • Go to the marked locations to check the lamps. • Climb to the top of the rock to clean the Statue of the Seven. • Head down the mountain to talk to Collei. • Go back to Gandharva Ville. • Adjust the time to 8:00 tomorrow. |
| 3 | Chronic Illness • Head to the marked location near the base of Gandharva Ville. • Talk to Tighnari behind the house. • Collect four Fresh Nilopata Lotuses. • Clear the Withering Zone using a combination of the Dendrograna and Charged Attacks. • Return to Gandharva Ville. • Head over to Haypasia's cave. |
| 4 | Silent Seeker of Knowledge • Move through the tree hollow made of leaves. • Use the Bouncy Mushrooms to find the special cave. • Move forward in the peculiar space to collect the first Primeval Rosin. • Go to the next marked location and defeat the two waves of Hilichurl enemies. • Go to the green bubble and use it to get to the second Primeval Rosin. • Use the Four-Leaf Sigils to take you to the final Primeval Rosin. • Unlock the door using the Primeval Rosin. • Explore the peculiar corridor, and solve the puzzle. • Get up to the platform to fight an Abyss Herald: Wicked Torrents. • Make some food then return to Gandharva Ville. |
| 5 | The Trail of the God of Wisdom • Go to Sumeru City to trigger a cutscene. • Visit Rohawi at the rooftop nearby. • Talk to Katheryne. • Find Asfand. • Find Dunyarazad behind the Jewelry shop. • Head inside Lambad's Tavern. • Head to the Grand Bazaar. • Wait for Dehya at the entrance of Citadel. |
| 6 | Lost in Prosperity • Go to Port Ormos. • Talk to the tailor Elham. • Listen to the conversation of Akademiya Students. • Head to the Djafar Tavern and sit by the chairs. • Speak with the Eremites and Alhaitham. • Find Dori's Contact. • Follow Raunak through Port Ormos. • Talk to Dori and buy the Canned Knowlege. |
