There is no doubt that Xilonen is an incredibly valuable unit for many due to her ability to shred resistances while also holding the powerful Hero of the Cinder City artifact set. Activating her RES Shred is also incredibly simple, which can carry over waves as it persists as an aura, so you won't need to set it up this again throughout its duration. On top of that, she can also provide single-target healing as long as you meet her element conditions. Moreover, she is the first of her kind to benefit Geo units as well.
In terms of competition with Kazuha, we see them as equally valuable. Depending on your current needs, Xilonen can double as both your debuffer and healer, giving you one more space for another potential DPS in your party. On the other hand, Kazuha can provide you with crowd control and off-field Elemental Application with his Swirls. Both characters provide unique benefits, and they don't invalidate the existence of the other, especially on Spiral Abyss where you may need two Kazuhas.

Xilonen Ascension and Talent Materials
Strengths | |||
---|---|---|---|
• Provides an easy-to-trigger RES shred that does not need any intricate rotations to benefit off of. • RES shred scales on nothing but Elemental Skill level, making her a high-impact character even with low investment. • Can fill both the Healer and Buffer roles in most teams, with the potential to also take up a Burst Sub-DPS role. • Elemental Burst conditionally provides on-demand heal when needed, on top of being decent damage. |
|||
Weaknesses | |||
• Requires two characters that are not Geo) in order to activate her RES shred buffs and on-field Elemental Burst healing. • Healing is only single-target unless she is at C6. |
When building Xilonen as a support, your main priority is to get Energy Recharge as high as possible, as DEF only becomes relevant if you invest into her healing or have Peak Patrol Song.
If potentially using her as a DPS however, look into investing into CRIT Stats while scaling her DEF stat, as most of her damaging abilities scale with DEF.

Xilonen thrives off of the 4-pc. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, letting her and her teammates benefit off of the Elemental DMG Bonus stacked with Xilonen's Resistance shred.
This build assumes that you are double-downing on Xilonen's role as a shredder-healer support, maximizing her supportive capabilities to aid the team.

If using Xilonen as a DPS, you can instead opt for a DEF-scaling CRIT build, with the standard DEF% Sands, Geo DMG Goblet, and CRIT Circlet.
This also has the added benefit of still being formidable as a support, but even more so since she has the personal damage to contribute in a fight.

Xilonen's RES shred scales solely on the level of her Elemental Skill, so focus on maxing it out as much as possible in order to reap the maximum benefits from Xilonen.
Afterwards, level Xilonen's Elemental Burst in order to raise both the damage and the heal scalings. Level her Normal Attacks last as they are more for Xilonen's personal damage.
Xilonen excels as a buffer unit from Natlan, making the new Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City her best Artifact Set as it gives Elemental DMG Bonus to everyone in the team.
Xilonen can also run Husk of Opulent Dreams for the universal buffs to her Geo DMG and DEF, and can also run 2-pc. combinations that increase her DEF and Energy Recharge.

List of Artifacts and Set Bonuses
Despite being a DEF-scaler, Support Xilonen actually prefers building as much Energy Recharge as possible to get her Burst back in one Skill use. DEF only becomes useful if investing into her healing or using her as a DPS.
Peak Patrol Song changes this dynamic as its buff scales with Xilonen's DEF, increasing the importance of DEF for both Support and DPS Xilonen. Freedom-Sworn is another special case, being almost unconditionally effective.

As a RES shredder, Xilonen excels in teams that allow her to lower enemy resistances and increase the team's damage.
With that in mind, Xilonen fits in most team comps that use any Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo character as their carry, but can also excel in Geo-focused teams provided that there are 2 characters different from Geo in the team.
Support | Main-DPS | Sub-DPS | Sub-DPS/ Support |
---|---|---|---|
Xilonen | Mualani | Dehya | Emilie |
Xilonen | Tartaglia | Xiangling | Bennett |
Xilonen | Arlecchino | Yelan | Bennett |
Xilonen can fulfill the buffer role in Vaporize teams, being able to constantly shred the Pyro and Hydro RES of enemies without interrupting elemental reactions due to her low Geo application.
This makes her especially effective in Vaporize teams where Hydro cannot consistently be swirled by someone like Kazuha, as she bypasses the need for proper set-up entirely.

Xilonen | Ayaka | Shenhe | Yelan |
Xilonen | Wriothesley | Shenhe | Furina |
Freeze teams often suffer from a low damage ceiling, which is something that Xilonen can remedy by taking on the role of both healer and buffer, allowing the team to slot in another damage-oriented unit.
She is also able to consistently buff both Cryo and Hydro, and can even be paired with Shenhe in order to skyrocket the amount of Cryo damage that the team can output.

Xilonen | Arlecchino | Xiangling | Thoma |
Xilonen | Lyney | Xiangling | Bennett |
In mono elemental teams, Xilonen is able to buff all the characters involved in the team, as all of them are likely to come from the same element.
She can also run these teams with another buffer in order to augment the team's overall damage even more, especially if their Main and Sub DPS units already have enough damage on their own.

Xilonen | Navia | Xiangling | Bennett |
Xilonen | Navia | Dehya | Thoma |
Xilonen fulfills the role of buffer and Geo Resonance partner for Navia, as slotting her in Navia's premium Pyro team allows Navia to take advantage of Pyro Resonance, Geo Resonance, and the default Geo RES shred from Xilonen.
These array of buffs also extend to any elemental Sub-DPS that the team has due to Xilonen's RES shred, making them more formidable while still being able to contribute to Navia's crystallize reactions without interruption.
Support | Main-DPS | Sub-DPS | Sub-DPS/ Support |
---|---|---|---|
Xilonen | Neuvillette | Furina | Kazuha |
Xilonen | Wriothesley | Furina | Kazuha |
Xilonen can specifically team up with one elemental Main DPS, Furina, and Kazuha in order to serve as both the healer and one of the three buffers in the team.
Unlike most team comps, this team puts absolute focus on enhancing the raw damage coming from the Main DPS as much as possible, bypassing any setup or reaction in favor of straightforward and strong damage.

Sample Basic Combo | Elemental Skill → Normal Attack(2x) |

Normal Attack: Ehecatl's Roar |
---|
Performs up to 3 rapid strikes.
Charge Attack Consumes a fixed amount of Stamina and performs a forward kick. Plunge Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact, both based on Xilonen's DEF. Nightsoul's Blessing: Blade Roller When in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, Xilonen will enter the Blade Roller mode. While in this mode, Xilonen's Normal Attacks will allow her to perform up to 4 kicks using her roller blades, and she will be unable to use Charged Attacks. When her Normal and Plunging Attacks are used in this mode, they will switch to being based on her DEF, and Xilonen will deal Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG that cannot be overridden. |
Yohual's Scratch |
---|
Let the rhythms of passion resound throughout the land! Xilonen switches to high-speed combat blading gear and rushes forward a certain distance before dealing Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG based on her DEF. After using this, Xilonen will gain 45 Nightsoul points and enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state. In this state, she will shift to the Blade Roller mode. Source Samples Xilonen has 3 Samplers with her that can generate different Soundscapes based on her other party members' Elemental Types, decreasing nearby opponents' corresponding Elemental RES while active. The initial recorded Source Sample within each Sampler will be Geo, and for each party member who is Pyro/Hydro/Cryo/Electro, 1 Geo Sample will change to that corresponding Element. While Xilonen is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, the Geo Source Sample she carries will always be active. After unlocking her Passive Talent, "Netotiliztli's Echoes," Xilonen can trigger said Passive Talent's effects to regenerate Nightsoul points for herself. When her Nightsoul points hit the maximum, she will consume all her Nightsoul points and activate the 3 Source Samples she has on hand for 15s. When the Source Samples are active, nearby opponents' corresponding Elemental RES will decrease. Source Sample effects of the same Elemental Type cannot stack. Xilonen can trigger these effects even when off-field. Nightsoul's Blessing: Xilonen Continuously consume Nightsoul points. When these points are depleted or if used again, this Nightsoul's Blessing state will end. This state has the following traits: ·Switches to the Blade Roller mode, increasing Xilonen's Movement SPD and climbing speed, and she can perform high-speed leaps in Ocelot Form while climbing. ·Xilonen's Nightsoul's Blessing has the following restrictions: When in this state, Xilonen's Nightsoul points have a 9s time limit. After this limit passes, her Nightsoul points will immediately expire. After Xilonen's Nightsoul points have expired while she is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, she will no longer be able to generate Nightsoul points via the Passive Talent "Netotiliztli's Echoes." |
Xilonen has 3 gems next to her Nightsoul Blessing meter by default, which functions as her Elemental Samplers and takes samples from every different Element present in the team.
This sampler provides a range of buffs depending on whether or not there are different elements present in the sampler while Xilonen is fighting.
By default, Xilonen's sampler is set to Geo, and empowers Xilonen's own Normal Attacks when using her Elemental Skill and entering Nightsoul's Blessing.
Nightsoul's Blessing and Burst Guide
If there are more than 2 different Elements in Xilonen's team, then her sampler will change two of the gems to the other corresponding elements, and empowers her Elemental Skill.
Xilonen can instead hit opponents with her Normal Attacks during her Elemental Skill and gain Nightsoul Points, upon reaching a full Nightsoul bar, the samplers will activated and shred down the Elemental RES of opponents.
Ocelotlicue Point! |
---|
Activates the Phlogiston Stereo DJ Controller (Portable) at full power, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG based on Xilonen's DEF. Additionally, she will trigger the following effects based on her different Source Samples: ·If she has at least 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, Xilonen will play an Ebullient rhythm, healing nearby active characters at intervals based on her DEF. ·If she has fewer than 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, Xilonen will start up an Ardent rhythm, which will play two additional beats that deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG based on her DEF. |
On its own, Xilonen's Elemental Burst deals AoE Geo DMG to enemies around her.
However, if Xilonen has 2 different Elements in her Sampler at the time of activation, her Elemental Burst will heal active on-field characters at set intervals for a duration.
Netotiliztli's Echoes |
---|
While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state: ·If Xilonen has at least 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, she gains 35 Nightsoul points when her Normal or Plunging Attacks hit opponents. Can be triggered once every 0.1s. ·If Xilonen has fewer than 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, her Normal and Plunging Attacks deal 30% increased DMG. |
Portable Armored Sheath |
---|
While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, when Xilonen's Nightsoul points reach the maximum, she will trigger an effect equal to that of her Nightsoul Burst. This effect can be triggered once every 14s. Additionally, when nearby party members trigger a Nightsoul Burst, Xilonen's DEF is increased by 20% for 15s. |
Night Realm's Gift: Blessing of Forge-Fire |
---|
After her Nightsoul points are fully depleted, Xilonen will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul's Blessing. While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Xilonen. When the active character is currently sprinting, climbing, in a movement mode caused by certain Talents, or at a certain height in the air, the following will trigger when switching to Xilonen: Xilonen will enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and gain 20 Nightsoul points. In this situation, Xilonen's Nightsoul points have a 4s time limit, after which her Nightsoul points will immediately expire. After she uses Yohual's Scratch within this time limit, her Nightsoul point time limit will be extended by 9s. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own team. Additionally, while in Natlan, Xilonen will not consume Stamina when climbing while in the Nightsoul's Blessing state. |

Kachina |
After I received my Ancient Name, Uncle Pacal took me to see her and asked her to make Turbo Twirly for me. Her. craftsmanship really is out of this world! Later, we discussed our experiences collecting and storing gems, and even admired each other's collections. Everything in her collection is in top condition, so she must take great care of them. She seems to take a more... casual approach to her own life, though... Once, I went looking for her, and couldn't find her for ages! I eventually found her basking in the sunshine in a big tree, sound asleep... |
Kinich | I saw a strange job posting once while passing by the Children of Echoes' territory. The requester was looking for a hardy plant that wouldn't take much maintenance, so I brought over some Saurian claw succulent seeds, along with a pot and some fertilizer. It grows well all over Natlan, even in the most barren areas. But when I went to collect my payment, I saw that not a single seedling had sprouted from the pot. I paid the price for overestimating Xilonen's gardening skills. This was one of the few failed jobs on my record. |
Mualani | If the Pyro Archon acknowledges a craftsperson, then you know she's good. Even if an Ancient Name got all smashed up, I bet she could make it good as new again. Wait, did I just jinx something? An Ancient Name absolutely cannot get smashed. That would be so bad. I take it back! I take it back! I didn't say anything. And you didn't hear anything either, alright? |

Chasca |
About Chasca To get Chasca's gun up and running in high altitude was no easy task. First, I had to make sure it would remain stable and reliable in high speed combat. Then, I had to develop standard and special ammunition that could be used for combat at high altitudes. And finally, I had to consider how to solve the issues of recoil and accuracy while flying... But Chasca told me the last two issues were no big deal, and that she'd be able to manage as long as I installed some basic mechanical crosshairs. Chasca has definitely proven to be an expert user of that weapon. Goes to show that she really is a flying ace of the Flower-Feather Clan. |
Citlali |
About Citlali Citlali would occasionally come to my workshop to buy some ore. According to her, some ores can be crushed into powder and taken as medicine to help her with divinations and ceremonies. Hm? Have I ever asked her to read my fortune? No, I'm not interested in knowing the future. I already have enough to worry about with all my present work. Besides, I always get sleepy during divination rituals... |
Iansan |
About Iansan I once helped the Collective of Plenty make a couple sets of super heavy weight plates and dumbbells. When it was time for the goods to be picked up, Iansan came with a group from the tribe to inspect the finished products. She picked up and checked every single weight before placing them one by one into a cart. After lifting all those weights, she was barely winded, and her face was only a little red. To be honest, I'm a little jealous of them. Not only are they really strong, but they've also got a way with plants... |
Ifa |
About Ifa Ifa has come to the tribe before to heal some Tepetlisaurs. He is very skilled, and knows how to care for his patients. Even the most rambunctious Saurians will sit quietly when he's around. Ifa said it's all thanks to the set of Saurian syringes I made for him. Even without the needle on it, it's enough to deter any person or Saurian from misbehaving. Would you like to see it? I still have a sample set if you're interested. Wait here, I'll go fetch the biggest one... Huh? Why are you backing away? The needle isn't even attached, it's completely safe. |
Kachina |
About Kachina Kachina commissioned me to forge a drill for her that could not only bore into the ground, but also jump around. It wasn't that complicated to make, but adjusting the angle of the seat was tricky. In the end, Kachina took my suggestion to ditch the seat in favor of a manual control system that connects to the power core of the drill... Huh? Why does Kachina bounce around when she's operating the Turbo Twirly? That's how she wanted it. She said she prefers having direct sensory feedback while she's driving, so I removed part of the shock absorption system. I do wonder if I should make her some mouthguards next, though. The last thing I want is for her to bite her tongue while using the drill... |
Kinich |
About Kinich Kinich is nice, but that Ajaw is really hard to be around. Speaking of, where did Ajaw even come from? If he originated from some kind of device, then there is actually a chance that I could make him shut up forever. Oh, maybe I should find some time to go over and discuss this with Kinich... |

Mualani |
About Mualani Mualani is an amazing athlete. I've never seen anyone make surfing or gliding on the Spiritways look so smooth or easy. In fact, I have yet to see Mualani ever slip up. Hmm? What would happen if a person or Saurian got in her way? Hmm, I'm pretty sure she would just scoop them up and keep gliding along. |
Ororon |
About Ororon If two negatives make a positive, then a weirdo in a group of weirdos should just be normal, but Ororon somehow still seems a little off to me. Still, he seems plenty nice as a person. He even had Ifa bring a bunch of fruit and honey to the Children of Echoes, presumably because he thought he had caused too much trouble for us. I had no idea you could get such sweet honey from Phlogiston Aphids, so he must know what he's doing. (sigh) How can some people be such naturals with plants and animals? |
