A Merchant from Fontaine

From the traveler's and Paimon's interaction with Yanbei, a clerk from Liyue Ministry of Civil Affairs, it was mentioned that Elchingen is supposedly a merchant from the nation of Fontaine.

A Fatuus in Disguise

As the story unfolded, it was eventually revealed that Elchingen is a Fatuus in disguise, directly under the Harbinger, Dottore's command.

Has Wealth of Suspicious Origin

Elchingen managed to amass a vast amount of Mora, and neither the Liyue Ministry of Civil Affairs nor the Corps of Thirty and the Matra have dug deep enough to unravel where it came from.

From Cyno's Missive addressed to Paimon and the traveler, it was mentioned that a specialized personnel will be mobilized instead, to do the aforementioned task.

May Have Been Killed by Yurochka

After completing the 5th act of the event quest for Fabulous Fungus Frenzy event, you can head to the Chakratam Cave and cross paths with the "Remover of Potential Liabilities", Yurochka.

You can then obtain a Mysterious Fatui Letter and a Special Wisdom Orb, with which the former mentioning something about Elchingen acting out on his own and thusly must be eliminated.
