Soraya Story and Lore

Who is Soraya?

Soraya hails from Sumeru and is a scholar from the Akademiya. She is particularly interested in Liyue's culture and has decided to study its customs and history, as well as Liyue's Adepti.

Soraya's Appearance

Soraya is dressed in a Sumerian, long dark-green dress with yellow and purple accents, wears eyeglasses, and tucks her brown hair in a bun. Soraya can be found near the Teleport Waypoint in Wangshu Inn after completing a specific world quest.

Stone Tablets in Guili Plains

The Traveler first encounters Soraya near the ruins of Guili Plains. When you get close to her, a quest indicator will also appear on the map.

Upon accepting the Treasure Lost, Treasure Found World Quest, you will learn about Guizhong (Haagentus)'s Four Commandments from the writings in the ruins of the former Guili Assembly.

Wangshu Inn Bulletin Board

Zhongli left a message at Wangshu Inn's Bulletin Board, and refers to Soraya as his ''Scholar friend from Sumeru.'' They most likely discussed the entirety of Liyue's history.

The Customs of Liyue: Flower Ball

Soraya can be seen staying at the Wangshu Inn after the World Quest. She will describe how customs in Liyue is a truly fascinating sight. Soraya will also give out a copy of the first volume of the Customs of Liyue.

Volume 1 of the Customs of Liyue discusses a Flower Ball, a wedding custom in Liyue in which whoever catches the flower ball that the bride will throw will experience a year of good luck.

Bao'er and the Treasure Hoarders

In The Lost Relic daily commission, the Traveler rescues Soraya from being attacked by the Treasure Hoarders. The reason for the assault is because they were looking for a relic to give Bao'er, the Treasure Hoarder Boss.

Soraya is a firm believer that artifacts should not be looted and sold for money, but rather studied and used for inspiration. This is also why she sends the Traveler back to the ruins to punish the Treasure Hoarders in the daily commission A Little Raid.

Legend of the Skybracer

During the Lantern Rite 2021 and under the When Scholars and Legends Meet event quest, the Traveler joins Soraya in Mt. Tianheng to learn more about Skybracer, that year's featured Adeptus of the Mingxiao Lantern.

Soraya wanted to know if the legend of Skybracer holding Mt. Tianheng with their antlers was true or if the soil had an unusual composition.
