• DMG scaling is among one of the highest for Charged Attack and Pyro users, and only scales higher the more Pyro characters there are on the team. • Grin-Malkin Hat can easily be refreshed via Charged Attacks or Elemental Burst, allowing for at least 2 sources of DPS at any time. • 5-stack Charge Level passive increases Lyney's Elemental Skill Damage, letting Lyney nuke down content with ease provided he has a healer. • The Grin-Malkin Hat can grab enemy attention, allowing Lyney to focus down opponents. • Useful for gathering local specialties in Fontaine.
Weaknesses

Will Lyney be worth to pull?

It has been a while since a new and reliable Pyro DPS has been released in the game, and pulling for Lyney might be a breath of fresh air for many players in search of one.

His DMG scaling is quite decent and his mechanics are pretty easy to understand, and he will be able to dish out a summative amount of DMG once you get the hang of him.

Shines in Mono-Pyro Teams

So long as you don't mind sacrificing some HP and the lack of elemental reactions for maximum DMG boost, then Lyney is worth the pull. You may also want to practice your steady hand when using Lyney as he relies heavily on Charged Attacks.

How to Use Lyney

Pneuma-Aligned Charged Attacks

Lyney's entire kit revolves around his Pneuma-aligned Charged Attacks. When using his Charged Attack, different effects will occur depending on the time Lyney spent charging his arrow.

If held for longer, he will fire off a Prop Arrow that will deal Pyro on hit. The Prop Arrow will also summon a Grin-Malkin Hat. Doing so consumes a portion of Lyney's HP and grants 1 Prop Surplus stack.

Grin-Malkin Hat

The Grin-Malkin Hat is Lyney's iconic cat-in-the-hat companion who can taunt enemies, and deal Pyro damage when it exists the field. Once it's destroyed or its duration expires, it will unleash a Pyrotechnic Strike, dealing AoE Pyro DMG.

The Grin-Malkin Hat can exist even when Lyney is not on the field. Therefore, it can be used for off-field Pyro support should you have other tactics in mind!

Detonate with Elemental Skill

Lyney consumes all Prop Surplus stacks to deal massive Pyro DMG in an AoE. If a Grin-Malkin Hat exists on the field, it will explode along with the Skill, dealing DMG equal to a Pyrotechnic Strike!

Each Prop Surplus Stack, apart from increasing the DMG dealt by this Skill, will also heal Lyney. This will restore the HP sacrificed during Charged Attacks!

Lyney's Elemental Burst

Lyney turns himself into a Grim-Malkin Cat for a certain duration that can freely roam around the field, while dealing Pyro DMG along its path. Once duration ends, the cat explodes to deal AoE Pyro DMG, summons a Grin-Malkin Hat.

You can have the Grim-Malkin Cat explode right away by pressing on Lyney's Skill.

Perilous Performance

If Lyney consumes HP after firing a Prop Arrow, the Grim-Malkin hat summoned upon hitting an opponent will restore 3 energy to Lyney and increase DMG dealt based on his ATK.

Conclusive Observation

DMG dealt by Lyney on enemies affected by Pyro will be increased. This effect can be increased by having other Pyro characters in the party aside from Lyney.

You can get the maximum increased DMG bonus by having Lyney and two other Pyro characters in the party!

Normal Attack: Card Force Translocation

Talent Description

Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow. Charge Attack Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, flames will run across the arrowhead before being fired. At Charge Level 1, it fires off a Fire-Infused arrow and deal Pyro DMG. At Charge Level 2, it fires off a Prop Arrow that deals Pyro DMG and summon a Grin-Malkin Hat upon hit. Charge Level 2 When Lyney has more than 60% HP, firing a Prop Arrow consumes part of his HP to obtain a Prop Surplus Stack with a maximum of 5 stacks. The effect will be removed after Lyney is out of combat for 30 seconds. Grin-Malkin Hat Can taunt nearby opponents and attrack their attacks once every 5 seconds. Inherits a percentage of Lyney's Max HP. If destroyed or expires, it will fire off a Pyrotechnic Strike at 1 nearby opponent, dealing Pyro DMG. Only 1 Grin-Malkin Hat can exist at a time.

Bewildering Lights

Talent Description
Lyney does a flourish with his hat, unleashing fireworks of surprise, clearing all current Prop Surplus Stack and dealing AoE Pyro DMG. The damage increases according to the stacks cleared and regenerates Lyney's HP based on his Max HP. When a Grin-Malkin Hat created by Lyney is on the field, using this skill will cause it to explode and deal AoE Pyro DMG and is considered Charged Attack DMG.

Wondrous Trick: Miracle Parade

Talent Description
Lyney turns into a Grin-Malkin Cat that can move around quickly. When the Grin-Malkin Cat nears opponents, it will send flames falling down on them, dealing one instance of Pyro DMG to each opponent. When the Grin-Malkin Cat's duration ends or is cancelled, it will be dismissed in a wave of fireworks that deal AoE Pyro DMG, summons 1 Grin-Malkin Hat, and creates 1 Prop Surplus Stack.
