Quicken is an elemental reaction in Genshin Impact that is triggered when Electro and Dendro get in contact together. See how to trigger Quicken, the best characters to trigger it, and the best teams for this elemental reaction!
List of Contents
Quicken is the Elemental reaction that creates an elemental aura around enemies when inflicted with both Electro and Dendro.
It does not matter if Dendro or Electro is applied first, as long as the enemy is inflicted with both of those elements, it will create a Quicken Aura that lasts about 7s, so use this at your advantage!
Take note that this does not actually cause damage to the enemies. However it is an essential stage for other reactions!

Unlike other elements, Quicken is part of a larger Elemental Reaction called Catalyze. It is the base reaction for three elemental reactions, namely Aggravate, Spread and Quicken, all of which are Elemental Reactions that are caused when Electro interacts with Dendro or vice versa.
Applying Electro and Dendro will create the Quicken Aura, which you can tell by a surrounding green flicker around the enemy.
With the Quicken Aura on enemies, applying Dendro would lead to Spread. Dendro damage is boosted based on your Dendro character's Elemental Mastery.
The counterpart to Spread is Aggravate, which now then boosts Electro damage based on your Electro Character's Elemental Mastery.
Aggravate Reaction Guide
Of course, the Dendro Archon excels in dealing with any type of Dendro reactions. She currently is the best in applying Dendro on enemies.
Nahida can easily apply Dendro with either her normal attack or Elemental Skill, offering comfort and team-flexiblity if you managed to win her from her limited banners.
When you want to have more flexibility in team roles. |
When you want to have a Debuffer against Dendro along with another Dendro Unit. |
When you want to use have constant Off-Field Dendro application. |
Slashing her way in since version 1.0, Keqing is one of our recommend characters in building Quicken/Aggravate teams.
Due to her quick and 100% uptime on Electro Application, she can consistently proc Aggravate and deal a lot of damage. This makes her an overall solid pick for a Main-DPS!
When you want to have an Electro Main DPS with consistent application. |
When you want to play a quick-swap style of team. |
When you don't mind losing your 50/50. |
Capable of dealing immense Dendro damage, we recommend Alhaitham as one of the best characters to trigger Catalyze/Quicken.
He can effectively cause the Catalyze reaction and immediately capitalize on the following Spread damage with both his Dendro infusion and Elemental Burst.
When you want a fast-paced and methodological Dendro DPS. |
When you want to deal massive Dendro damage over a single area. |
Alhaitham Rating and Best Builds

Keqing | Fischl | Nahida | Zhongli |
Cyno | Nahida | Kazuha | Shinobu |
Aggravate is one of the best teams involving Electro and Dendro units, with this a Quicken - Aggravate team can be centered around an Electro DPS.
Any Electro unit can trigger Catalyze and create the Quicken aura, however Elemental Mastery is crucial when dealing damage.

Main DPS | Sub-DPS | Sub-DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Alhaitham | Nahida | Yae Miko | Zhongli |
Tighnari | Nahida | Fischl | Shinobu |
If you want to lean towards dealing heavy Dendro Damage instead of Electro, you could build around a Quicken - Spread team!
Since Dendro does not swirl with Anemo, build any of your Dendro units with the Deepwood Memories Artifact Set to maximize their damage potential!
