Hydro is the Water Element in Genshin Impact, with Fontaine being the designated Hydro region.

Hydro being applied to your character has no negative effects on its own. However, this also means that Hydro Elemental Reactions can affect you (like being Frozen by Cryo) if the enemies have elemental attacks.

Hydro Aura

Effect	Increases Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill cooldown by 100%

Slowing Water doubles the Elemental Skill and Burst cooldowns of your characters. It can come from a Leyline Disorder or an Enemy Aura. This debuff can only be removed by using a cleanse ability or applying a different element (except Electro) to yourself.

Affected by Pyro for 40% less time. Increases Max HP by 25%.

Hydro Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths, Weaknesses, and Immunities

Hydro is very strong against Pyro Elemental Shields and Pyro Elemental Armor. It has no effect on Hydro Elemental Shields, Cryo Elemental Shields, Cryo Elemental Armor, and Electro Elemental Armor.

Hydro can react to multiple Elements in the game. Some reactions change damage according to the order of the first element applied.

Vaporize	1. Pyro	Hydro attacks deal 2x more damage if Hydro is applied after Pyro.

Reverse Vaporize	1. Hydro	Pyro attacks deal 1.5x more damage if Pyro is applied after Hydro.

Frozen	Hydro Cryo	Freezes enemies. The effect will trigger from any order.

Electro-Charged	Hydro Electro	Deals Electro damage over time and spreads to nearby enemies. The effect will trigger from any order.

Swirl	1. Cryo	Anemo spreads Hydro around the target and then deals Hydro and Anemo damage.
	2. Anemo
Crystalize	1. Cryo	Drops a Hydro shard that creates a Hydro shield which absorbs damage and has bonus resistance to Hydro damage when picked up.

Bloom	Hydro Dendro	Creates a Dendro Core.
