How to Farm Artifacts

Artifacts are the key to making your team capable of taking on any challenge the world of Teyvat throws at you. Unlike weapons, Artifacts can only be upgraded by foddering other Artifacts which makes effectively farming Artifacts important to your gear progression.

Another way to farm artifacts is by defeating enemy bosses. Each defeated boss drops a set of artifacts, along with Talent Enhancement Materials.

Artifact Farming Guide

Here's an Artifact Farming Guide based on your current Adventure Rank.

Adventure Rank 1-20

Early on, acquiring Artifacts is as simple as opening chests on the world map and progressing through the main story, sidequests and the available Domains. There will be an abundance of 1 and 2-star Artifacts in the lower ranks which will be perfect to use as a way to level up your 3-star and 4-star Artifacts.

Adventure Rank 25+

From Adventure Rank 20 your World Level will increase along with both the toughness of enemies and rarity of the Artifacts they drop. This is where fighting bosses and clearing Domains become important, as 4-star Artifacts will be be added to each bosses loot table and the subsequent Domain difficulty tiers.

Adventure Rank 40

From Adventure rank 40 and onwards 5-star Artifacts will be included in the drop tables for higher Domain difficulties and Bosses, and will drop occasionally.

Adventure Rank 45+

Adventure Rank 45+ is currently the optimal rank to grind Artifacts as Domains will drop at least one 5-star Artifact every run. Due to the high drop rate, it is recommended to save up as much Fragile Resin as possible in order to farm 5-star Artifacts continuously.

Where to Farm Artifacts

Aside from challenges and chests your sources for Artifacts will come from Domains and Bosses, each offering a variety of powerful sets to farm.

Buy from Artifact Shops

There are 3 shops that sell artifacts, each shop selling a set of 2-star artifacts. All the shops will sell 1 piece of the entire set and will reset their stock weekly, which means that you can buy 3 whole sets every week!

Farming Routes

There are objects all around Teyvat that will drop low rarity artifacts after interacting with them. Farming routes take advantage of these locations to provide you the fastest and easiest way of obtaining low rarity artifacts to use as fodder for your higher rarity ones.

Within each Domain are difficulty tiers locked behind prerequisite Adventure Ranks. The higher the difficulty tier of the Domain, the better the rewards you get.

Tips on Spending Resin

Focused Farming via Co-op

Due to the Fragile Resin cost for clearing bosses it is recommended to focus one or two particular bosses at a time. Since most of the bosses have a short respawn timer you can continue to farm your boss of choice by jumping into Co-op and farming with friends or random players.

Out of Resin

Ruin Hunters, Abyss Mages, Mitachurls and Hatchlings are free to farm when they respawn. Only claiming rewards for Domains, Hypostasis, Regisvines, Lupus Boreas, and Oceanid costs Original Resin.
