Crystallize reactions happen when Geo is applied to Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, and Electro in Genshin Impact. See how to trigger Crystallize, how to use shards to make shields, and which characters can best create it here!
To trigger Crystallize, the enemy or interactable structure must be affected by a different element first. You can use Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, or Electro before using Geo!
Geo does not react with Anemo or Dendro, so these Elements together cannot trigger Crystallize.
Geo Element and Reactions Guide
When Crystallize is triggered, it creates Shards that you active character can pick up to create a shield. This shield will also gain bonus resistance based on the element that the Geo reacted with to create it.
All of the Playable Geo Characters have some capacity to trigger Crystallize and create Crystal Shards. Most of them also have kits that make creating shields easy in the first place.
This is beneficial for teams that have no dedicated or consistent shielder, and utilize the 4-Piece Retracing Bolide artifact set or the 4-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith artifact set.
Character | How to Use for Crystallize |
---|---|
Ningguang | ・Can apply Geo with all of her attacks. ・Pair with off-field Support such as Fischl or Kokomi. |
Itto | ・Pair with off-field Support such as Fischl or Kokomi. ・Elemental Burst infuses Itto's attacks with Geo. |
Zhongli | ・Elemental Skill's Stone Stele deals additional AoE Geo DMG. ・Use as Support to other element DPS characters. |
Albedo | ・Elemental Skill can be placed to apply Geo at specific intervals. ・Elemental Burst deals damage and applies Geo in a large AoE. ・Use as Support to other element DPS characters. |
Ningguang, Zhongli, Itto, and Albedo are the best at consistently creating Crystallize Shards as long as they're paired with other characters who can apply their own elements just as consistently.
Pair support Geo characters who can apply Geo off-field such as Albedo with on-field DPS characters of a different element to trigger Crystallize consistently!
Alternatively, DPS Geo characters such as Ningguang and Itto can trigger Crystallize best with support characters that can apply their elements off-field, such as Fischl or Xingqiu!
