・Increase the Base Shield DMG Absorption for shields generated by Crystallize reactions
・Increases the DMG Bonus provided by Elemental Mastery for major reactions. (Refer to the attributes panel in-game for the exact DMG Bonus amount.)

What Does Elemental Mastery Do?

Enhances Elemental Reactions

Genshin - Activates Elemental Mastery

Elemental Mastery works when any Elemental Reaction has been triggered. More importantly, the character who applies the 2nd element is the one whose Elemental Mastery who gets enhanced.

Therefore, the proper use of Elemental Mastery's effect is to apply the first element from your Sub-DPSs or Supports, then apply the second element from your Main DPS.

How Much Elemental Mastery is Good?

Between 100 to 500 is Recommended

Genshin - Elemental Mastery Sands

For Supports or Sub-DPS that primarily stacks Elemental Mastery, we recommend a range from 500 to 1000 Elemental Mastery for such characters.

For characters that thrive from reactions like Melt or Vaporize, at least 100 Elemental Mastery is recommended. If you can't reach this number yet, you can make up for it by stacking more CRIT Rate and Crit DMG.

Elemental Mastery VS. ATK and Crit

Genshin - Searing Onslaught Damage

Elemental Mastery increases the damage multiplier on the initial damage you deal to enemies when causing an elemental reaction. Having Elemental Mastery alone won't deal high damage without increasing your ATK.

Elemental Mastery has diminishing returns if you do not build enough ATK or Crit Rate/Crit DMG. A healthy build is to find a middle ground between between these stats, as most Elemental Skills scale with the latter.

Elemental Mastery VS. Energy Recharge

Genshin - Rainslasher Elemental Mastery

Sub-DPS and Supports generally do not need much Elemental Mastery. Instead, they benefit more from Energy Recharge to output more Elemental Bursts.

How to Increase Elemental Mastery

Use Artifacts With Elemental Mastery

You can raise your Elemental Mastery by equipping artifacts with Elemental Mastery stat. Some artifacts have Elemental Mastery as their main stat, such as the Sands of Eon, Goblet of Eonothem, and the Circlet of Logos.

You can also receive Elemental Mastery by rolling on substats or by equipping certain artifact set bonuses.
