Strengths | |||
---|---|---|---|
• Quick electro application with good overall damage from her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, allowing her to be a great on-field Electro applicator. • Augmented Elemental Skill lets Clorinde either stay in place or weave around the battlefield, allowing for a deceptively agile playstyle. • Gains access to healers that can offset her Bond of Life acquisition, allowing her to spam Augmented Normal Attacks without having to move. • Self-healing with Impale the Night gives her incredible self-sustain and lets her run 3 buffers without too much risk. • Her Normal Attack button can be held down during her Elemental Skill, allowing for ease of use when fighting. |
|||
Weaknesses | |||
• Elemental Skill has limited uptime, forcing Clorinde into very strict rotations that lead to a DPS loss if she cannot fully utilize her Elemental Skill. • Her overall damage is more team-oriented compared to traditional on-field DPSes, encouraging her to have a solid team that works with her. • She can be interrupted during her Elemental Skill, requiring some form of interruption resistance to ensure that she cannot be damaged and stunned during her combo. |

Clorinde's best build is similar to Standard DPS characters despite her Bond of Life mechanics, so focusing on CRIT Stats and ATK for Standard Electro and CRIT and Elemental Mastery for Aggravate should be your goal.
The builds between Standard and Aggravate remain the same, with the only difference being your choice in whether your Sands is ATK or Elemental Mastery.

Elemental Skill | Elemental Burst | Normal Attack |
Clorinde's Elemental Skill should be the main priority due to it being the source of most of her damage, with her Elemental Burst following up as the second priority due to its Burst DMG scaling.
Clorinde's Normal Attacks can be saved for last or even left unleveled as her Elemental Skill damage scales with her Elemental Skill talent. Her Elemental Skill is still considered Normal Attack DMG, but this only means that Clorinde's attacks during her skill are able to proc effects like Fischl's Oz.
For Clorinde's best artifacts, Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy is the clear winner for her because of how well it synergizes with her Bond of Life mechanic.
Alternatively, there is also the choice of Thundering Fury as it allows her to trigger her Elemental Skill more, with Gladiator's Finale being a runner-up as a good generalist option.
Artifact | Artifact Bonuses | |
---|---|---|
1st | Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy |
2-PC: ATK +18% 4-PC: When the value of a Bond of Life increases or decreases, this character deals 18% increased DMG for 6s. Max 3 stacks. |

When Quicked or the aforementioned Elemental Reactions are triggered, Elemental Skill CD is decreased by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s |
3rd | Gladiator's Finale |
2-PC: ATK +18%. 4-PC: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%. |

List of Artifacts and Set Bonuses
For Clorinde's best weapons, Absolution shines both as her Signature and her Best-in-Slot, completely complementing her playstyle due to being able to potentially gain a 48% DMG increase from the Bond of Life mechanic.
Otherwise, Mistsplitter Reforged is one of her premium options due to its unconditional advantages, with Finale of the Deep being her F2P options, slotting in well for her kit.

Clorinde's best teams are Electro-Charge and Aggravate, as she is a character that capitalizes on her raw electro damage and its fast application.
This leads her to naturally become a Main Electro DPS in her best teams due to her damage consistency during its uptime.

Clorinde's A1 Passive gives her a decent increase to her damage without the need of standard damage buffers, letting her slot into Electro-Charge teams as the main damage dealer to great effect.
When paired with 2 Hydro applicators and especially someone like Furina, the team's damage and Electro-Charge's frequency skyrockets, making this one of Clorinde's best teams.

Clorinde's own damage paired with either more buffs and some form of sustain gives her access to a near solo-onfield hypercarry playstyle to brute force through content.
This is in contrast to her more team-oriented playstyle, trading Elemental Reactions for overwhelming electro damage.

C1 |
"From This Day, I Pass the Candle's Shadow-Veil" While Hunter's Vigil's Night Vigil state is active, when Electro DMG from Clorinde's Normal Attacks hit opponents, they will trigger 2 coordinated attacks from a Nightvigil Shade summoned near the hit opponent, each dealing 30% of Clorinde's ATK as Electro DMG. This effect can occur once every 1.2s. |
C2 |
"Now, As We Face the Perils of the Long Night" After a nearby party member triggers an Electro-related reaction against an opponent, Electro DMG dealt by Clorinde's Normal Attacks and Last Lightfall will be increased by 30% of Clorinde's ATK for 15s. Max 3 independent stacks. When you have 3 stacks, Clorinde's interruption resistance will be increased. |

"I Pledge to Remember the Oath of Daylight" Increases the Level of Hunter's Vigil by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15." |
C4 |
"To Enshrine Tears, Life, and Love" When Last Lightfall deals DMG to opponent(s), DMG dealt is increased based on Clorinde's Bond of Life percentage. Every 1% of her current Bond of Life will increase Last Lightfall DMG by 2%. The maximum Last Lightfall DMG increase achievable this way is 200%. |
C5 |
"Holding Dawn's Coming as My Votive" Increases the Level of Last Lightfall by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15." |

Additionally, while Night Vigil is active, a Glimbright Shade will appear under specific circumstances, executing an Electro attack that deals 200% of Clorinde's ATK as Normal Attack DMG. In addition, while Night Vigil is active, the DMG Clorinde receives is decreased by 80% and her interruption resistance is increased. disappearing if Night Vigil state ends or after she summons 6 Glimbright Shades. |
Rating | Constellation Effect / Merits | |
---|---|---|
C2 | ★★★ | • Gives Clorinde a significant increase to her DMG and interruption resistance if an ally party member triggers an Electro-related reaction. |
C6 | ★★★ |
• Gives Clorinde 10% CRIT Rate and 70% CRIT DMG, skyrocketing her damage even further. • Summons Glimbright Shades that either attack with Clorinde or counter-attack her opponents. • Decreases DMG received by 80% during her Night Vigil state. |
C2 gives her the biggest damage increase without going all the way to C6, as well as a helpful amount of interruption resistance to ensure that her combo flows through smoothly.

Sample All-In Rotation | Elemental Burst → Elemental Skill → Elemental Skill (Impale the Night) → 3x Empowered Normal Attacks (Swift Hunt) → Elemental Skill (Impale the Night) → Repeat until Skill Ends |
---|
Using her Elemental Burst allows her to apply a degree of Burst DMG to her opponents, before using her Elemental Skill and applying a second instance of burst DMG through a fully-charged Impale the Night.
This is typically done after her supports are done setting up to ensure that Clorinde has maximum effectiveness during her Elemental Skill's uptime.
Sample Standard Rotation | Elemental Skill → 3x Empowered Normal Attacks (Swift Hunt) → Elemental Skill (Impale the Night) → Repeat until Skill Ends |
---|
Clorinde's standard Burstless rotation consists of her supports going before her, followed up by Clorinde casting her Elemental Skill and weaving attacks between Swift Hunt and Impale the Night.
Clorinde will typically get 3 - 4 Swift Hunt Normal Attacks attacks off before needing to use her Elemental Skill to cleanse it all with Impale the Night.
Normal Attack: Oath of Hunting Shadows |
---|
Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.
Charge Attack Consumes a certain amount of Stamina and fires. Suppressing Shots in a fan pattern with her pistolet. |
Clorinde sports a Normal Attack string, allowing her to chain up to 5 Physical Hits on any opponent, while her Charged Attack lets her strike enemies in a cone in front of her.
Her Normal Attack's true potential is shown when paired with her Elemental Skill.
Hunter's Vigil |
---|
Preparing her pistolet, she enters the “Night Vigil” state, using steel and shot together. In this state, Clorinde's Normal Attacks will be transformed into “Swift Hunt” pistolet attacks, and the DMG dealt is converted into Electro DMG that cannot be overridden by infusions, and she will be unable to use Charged Attacks. Using her Elemental Skill will transform it into “Impale the Night”: Perform a lunging attack, dealing Electro DMG. The DMG done through the aforementioned method is considered Normal Attack DMG. Clorinde will exit the “Night Vigil” state when she leaves the field.
Swift Hunt: • When her Bond of Life is equal to or greater than 100% of her max HP: Performs a pistolet shot. • When her Bond of Life is less than 100%, firing her pistolet will grant her Bond of Life, with the amount gained based on her max HP. The shots she fires can pierce opponents, and DMG dealt to opponents in their path is increased. Impale the Night: • When the Bond of Life value is 0%, perform a normal lunging strike. • When the Bond of Life value is less than 100% of her max HP, Clorinde is healed based on the Bond of Life Value, and the AoE of the lunging attack and the DMG dealt is increased. • Use Impale the Night: Pact when the Bond of Life's value is 100% or more of her max HP. Both the AoE and DMG dealt by the lunge are enhanced, as well as the healing multiplier. |
Using Clorinde's Elemental Skill puts her into the Night Vigil state, empowering her Normal Attacks with Electro and giving her different interactions with the Bond of Life mechanic based on her use case.
This is Clorinde's bread and butter, and her entire playstyle revolves around correct usage of this Elemental Skill. Make sure to mix up usage of both parts of her Skill to make full use of Clorinde's damage.
Clorinde's Empowered Normal Attacks, Swift Hunt, lets her fire her Pistolet in front of her for damage based on how low her Bond of Life stacks are, and gives her Bond of Life stacks per shot.
At its full power, her Pistol shots deal bonus damage and pierce through enemies. This lasts until she has accumulated enough Bond of Life to weaken her Swift Hunt attacks.
Clorinde's Elemental Skill turns into Impale the Night, allowing her to dash forward, dealing damage to enemies in her path and clearing any Bond of Life stacks on her.
When she has a high amount of Bond of Life at the time of usage, this empowers Impale the Night, dealing more damage and increasing the damage AoE of the dash.
Last Lightfall |
---|
Grants herself a Bond of Life based upon her own max HP before swiftly evading and striking with saber and sidearm as one, dealing AoE Electro DMG.
Passive Talent: Dark-Shattering Flame After a nearby party member triggers an Electro-related reaction against an opponent, Electro DMG dealt by Clorinde's Normal Attacks and Last Lightfall will be increased by 20% of Clorinde's ATK for 15s. Max 3 stacks. Each stack is counted independently. The Maximum DMG increase achievable this way for the above attacks is 1,800. Passive Talent: Lawful Remuneration If Clorinde's Bond of Life is equal to or greater than 100% of her Max HP, her CRIT Rate will increase by 10% for 15s whenever her Bond of Life value increases or decreases. Max 2 stacks. Each stack is counted independently. Additionally, Hunter's Vigil's Night Vigil state is buffed: While it is active, the percent of healing converted to Bond of Life increases to 100%. |
Clorinde's Elemental Burst allows her to dash down the area in front of her, dealing massive damage to enemies and giving her a Bond of Life based on the value of her Max HP.
Use this as a nuke to quickly dispatch enemies and set her up for an immediate follow-up with Impale the Night.
Dark-Shattering Flame |
---|
After a nearby party member triggers an Electro-related reaction against an opponent, Electro DMG dealt by Clorinde's Normal Attacks and Last Lightfall will be increased by 20% of Clorinde's ATK for 15s. Max 3 stacks. Each stack is counted independently. The Maximum DMG increase achievable this way for the above attacks is 1,800. |
Clorinde can gain a sizable increase to both her Normal Attacks and her Elemental Burst when paired with an Electro Teammate.
This allows Clorinde to forego traditional supports like Bennett for more effective ones like Kujou Sara.
Lawful Remuneration |
---|
If Clorinde's Bond of Life is equal to or greater than 100% of her Max HP, her CRIT Rate will increase by 10% for 15s whenever her Bond of Life value increases or decreases. Max 2 stacks. Each stack is counted independently. Additionally, Hunter's Vigil's Night Vigil state is buffed: While it is active, the percent of healing converted to Bond of Life increases to 100%. |
Her A2 can function both as a damage increase and a Quality-of-Life emergency healing option, letting Clorinde recover all her HP with one Impale the Night strike if her Bond of Life is at 100%.

As one of Fontaine's Champion Duelists, she is responsible for giving the guilty a last chance at survival by defending themselves in combat.
She works closely with Iudex Neuvillette, and previously the Hydro Archon in criminal cases, serving as both a protector and an executioner.
Navia's father, Callas, was falsely imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. Rather than prove his innocence, Callas requested a duel and Clorinde was his opponent.
Clorinde won and Callas was fatally wounded in battle. Before his death, Clorinde promised Callas that she will protect Navia.
Clorinde is voiced by Crystal Lee in English, and Yui Ishikawa (石川 由依) in Japanese!

Character | In-Game Thoughts |

Charlotte | Clorinde is the most well-known Champion Duelist in Fontaine, but she's also the most mysterious. I have a source who tells me that she uses some sort of mystical ritual to keep her weapon as good as new... Could this be the secret behind her famously undefeated track record in the Duelists' Ring? Ah, I'd love to spring that question on her one day... but I don't think I'll get the chance. She's publicly stated that she doesn't accept interviews. |
Chevreuse | Clorinde has built quite the reputation for herself in Fontaine as a Champion Duelist. Our positions are different, so I'm not at liberty to make any comments about her work. But I trust that she takes on those duels out of her own sense of justice. |
Freminet | I owe Clorinde my life, but she says she doesn't want anything from me in return... It's not a nice feeling, having put someone out so much, and only being able to offer empty thank-yous in return. |
Furina | As I remember, Clorinde isn't very talkative, but she has stood by me and protected me on several occasions, so I trust her very much. Hmm... I do miss her ever so slightly, but I don't have any real reason to see her now. Oh, right! I should invite her to my next tea party! |
Lynette | I was once ordered to observe a duel of hers. Even just as a bystander, the coldness radiating from her was absolutely chilling... I don't know what it would be like to face her directly in a duel, and I hope I will never find out. |
Lyney | Clorinde's quite famous as a Champion Duelist. But from what I've read in the papers, she seems to have gotten into a bit of a pickle. The media's been all over her story, and she's... Well, she's the type that definitely doesn't enjoy that kind of attention. |
Navia | She might not say much, or show a lot of emotion, but I can tell that she feels deeply. After my father's death, I...well, it caused quite a rift between us for a long time. But even then, I never did like having her constantly walking on eggshells around me... I much prefer how things are now. |
Neuvillette | Clorinde's peerless skills have made her the most powerful Champion Duelist in our nation. As a successor to the Marechaussee Hunters of old, she plays a vital role in ensuring the fairness and impartiality of the courtroom. Also, she's actually not as stoic as she might appear. |
Wriothesley | Clorinde is the best Champion Duelist you can find. Her combat prowess is already the stuff of legend. I've never fought her myself, but that's because there's never been a need for it. |

So correct me if I’m wrong but would a r5 absolution increase the crit dmg to say 84%? (If the base was at 200 crit dmg.) Like the final number would be 284? Or would it be lower? Like 260 or 270? And would her stick at r5 increase her dmg by 94? And does that stack with the fragment set? If it does is the final number around 150? Sorry for this mess, trying to decide whether I’ll c6/r5 her or not.
