From the Quest Counter, select the Event Quests Tab and select A Vile Visage to accept this quest. You can do this by speaking to Alma, speaking to Lotta in the Grand Hub, or opening the Quest Counter from the Tent.

This ★5 quest will have you capture an Alpha Doshaguma.

Capture Only Quest

Monster Hunter Wilds - Capture Large Monsters

This event quest can only be completed when you capture the target monster. Monsters can only be captured when they're close to death. This can be determined if they're limping, have a skull icon next to their map icon, or if their heartbeat signifier is going flat. Take note of these indicators and stop attacking before you accidentally slay it, which will fail the quest.

Once the monster is weak enough, use a tranq item twice, like a Tranq Bomb or Tranq Ammo, and trap it with either a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap.

How to Capture Monsters

Focus on the Alpha Doshaguma

Alpha Doshaguma
The Alpha Doshaguma is the target of this quest. It's the leader of a Doshaguma pack, which you can tell apart from its herd as it's bigger and redder in color.

As it's difficult to fight an entire pack of monsters, you can disperse them by using Dung Pods or Large Dung Pods.

Doshagumas are most susceptible to hits to the head and weakest to Fire attacks. They are very prone to getting wounded the more you damage them, so take advantage of this to keep staggering the monster.
