Capturing Magnamalo in High Rank will give you a 3% chance of obtaining Purple Magna Orb, the highest probability across the board. Aside from this, you may also want to cut-off its tail and break the head.

Carving Magnamalo's tail gives you a 3% chance of obtaining the orb, while breaking Magnamalo's head will also give a 3% chance of obtaining the Purple Magna Orb as a Broken Part Reward after the quest. This effectively gives you the best chance of getting this elusive purple orb.
