You will be able to farm for Bitter Frostcone as soon as you get access to the High Rank map of the Frost Islands. You can also find this item in Master Rank.
You can obtain this item from Frigid Berry gathering nodes around the map. Try to equip Geologist Lv. 2 and look out for an Upsurge of Local Items to gather more account items.
You can use your Palamute when you go on expeditions to farm certain items as you can use their Sniff 'em Out! ability to help you look for farming nodes!
| 1 |  The first Frigid Berry should be near the Main Camp. Climb up the side to reach it. |
|---|---|
| 2 |  Go west toward the next node. This should be near a bonepile. |
| 3 |  Stay near the edge of the map while going to the next gathering point. Climb up near the marked point to find another Frigid Berry. |
| 4 |  The next node is near Sub-camp 1. Fast travel here or use Wirebugs to move here from the previous area. |
| 5 |  Follow the path to the left then from there, use a Wirebug to cross the gap. |
| 6 |  Go back to the area near the Sub-camp then travel to the next gathering point. |
| 7 |  Fast travel to Sub-camp 2 then climb up to find the next node nearby. |
| 8 |  Continue south along the path to get to the next Frigid Berry. |
| 9 |  Look west and look for the Frigid Berry nearby. Use a Wirebug to move toward it. |
| 10 |  Make your way to the last gathering point by using your Wirebugs and climbing up the mountains. |
