He appeared first in the Teyvat Interlude Teaser, where all the remaining Fatui Harbingers had gathered for the first time in a long time after the events of the Archon Quest Chapter 2 Act 3.

In the desert that shone bright like liquid gold, he inquired of the Snezhnayan diplomat: "Will you treat me like the Academia did? Will you call me a monster, a madman?" "Or will you treat me as my hometown did, and chase me away with pitchforks and clubs...?"."

In the description of the Wise Doctor's Pinion from the Pale Flame Artifact set, it was indirectly mentioned that Dottore hailed from the Akademiya in Sumeru as a scholar, but was then expelled because of his unconventional ways of doing research.

Has Multiple Segments from Different Timelines

During the Chapter 3: Act 5 Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises Archon Quest, it was explicitly mentioned that Dottore managed to create multiple copies of himself, referred to as Segments which involved taking versions of himself from different timelines.

And while the copies are allegedly erased in exchange of a Gnosis, it's implied that the concept of time in Teyvat is not linear, and is rather multilayered!

Archon Quest Chapter 3: Act 3

Dottore's first official in-game appearance was in the Act 3 of the Chapter 3 Archon Quest, Dreams, Emptiness, and Deception.

Dottore appeared to have come back to his hometown, Sumeru City, where he was once chased out from because of his unorthodox methods of experimentation.

As the story unfolds, it was revealed that he had begun working with several Sages of Akademiya for a larger, hidden goal.

Archon Quest Chapter 3: Act 5

Dottore was also involved in the fifth act of the Chapter 3 Archon Quest, Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises.

This time around, the Doctor appeared twice during the quest—first at Pardis Dhyai in an attempt to capture the scholar Haypasia, under the guise of treating her.

He appeared again inside the Sanctuary of Surasthana in the final confrontation between the Fatui and the Dendro Archon.

Fabulous Fungus Frenzy: Act V

During the Act 5 of the Event Quest chain for Fabulous Fungus Frenzy Event, "The Strongest Opponent! The Biggest Crisis!", the main antagonist Elchingen revealed that he worked under Dottore.

Having said that, Elchingen seemed to have thought of and carried out his plans by himself, with Dottore having no involvement nor knowledge of it.
