Effect This is a Ghost-type attack Dynamax Pokémon use. This lowers the target's Defense stat.

Power of Max Phantasm

Max Phantasm's Power, Category and PP are determined by its Base Move. Its Category and PP will match that of the Base Move, while the Power is determined according to the table below:

Pokemon That Learn Max Phantasm

Max Phantasm is usable by all Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon who know at least one Ghost-type damaging move. That move will be replaced with Max Phantasm while the Pokemon is Dynamaxed.

In the case of Gigantamax Pokemon, they may not be able to learn this move if their Ghost-type damaging moves are instead replaced by their signature G-Max Move.

An example of a good Max Phantasm user is MImikyu, since it remains to be one of the popular Pokemon in the current meta.

Competitive Analysis

Max Phantasm has the secondary effect of lowering the defense of opposing Pokemon by one stage.

This can be very useful for both offensive and defensive teams in being able to dish out more damage against enemy Pokemon.
