Max Rockfall is usable by all Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon who know at least one Rock-type damaging move. That move will be replaced with Max Rockfall while the Pokemon is Dynamaxed.
In the case of Gigantamax Pokemon, they may not be able to learn this move if their Rock-type damaging moves are instead replaced by their signature G-Max Move.
Using Max Rockfall in battle is one key strategy for teams that are built for Sandstorm that do not include Pokemon with Sand Stream.
Once Max Rockfall is used, it spews out a sandstorm that lasts for five turns. This move is utilized as a way to setup sandstorm or change the weather.
Max Rockfall is also used to deal tremendous amounts of damage from Rock-type moves that would otherwise have drawbacks, like Head Smash or Rock Wrecker.
Max Rockfall is only available via Rock-type moves when Dynamaxed or Gigantamaxed.
