This set aims to take advantage of Regice's offensive movepool and good defenses. While it is not the most powerful offensive Pokemon, what sets Regice apart is its sky-high Special Defense stat. Its useable Special Attack stat allows it to be a formidable Special Attacking tank.
The combination of Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, along with Focus Blast can hit a variety of different types for super-effective damage. Substitute helps Regice tank multiple hits, increasing its survivability.
Maximizing Regice's HP effectively gives it sizeable Special bulk because it already naturally has a very high Special Defense stat and more HP works well with this.
Maximizing Regice's Special Attack along with a Modest nature ensures that it is dealing as much damage as possible.
Clear Body allows Regice to ignore status reductions. This is especially good against attacks like Eerie Impulse or Snarl.
Regice is extremely weak to Stealth Rock, so Heavy-Duty Boots gives it protection against Entry Hazards.
Charge Beam | Charge Beam can increase Regice's Special Attack Stat. This move works hand-in-hand with Regice's good defenses. |
---|---|
Flash Cannon | Flash Cannon gives Regice coverage against Fairy-types, allowing Regice to hit them for super-effective damage. |
Rest / Sleep Talk | The combination of Rest/Talk allows Regice to sponge status conditions. It also allows it to heal off accumulated damage. The combination takes two slots however. |
Nature | Modest (+Sp. Atk, -Atk) Quiet (+Sp. Atk, -Spe) |

EV Spread | HP 252 / Sp. Atk 252 / Sp. Def 4 |

Ability | Clear Body |
Held Item | Weakness Policy |
Moveset | ・Ice Beam
・Thunderbolt ・Flash Cannon ・Protect |
Regice fairs well as a Weakness Policy attacker because of its good defenses. This set is also a good Dynamax option, and is a solid Pokemon to have at the back of your team.
The combination of Ice Beam and Thunderbolt can hit a variety of different types for super-effective damage.
Flash Cannon allows Regice to hit Fairy-types for super-effective damage, and is an excellent move in Dynamax as Max Steelspike.
Maximizing Regice's HP effectively gives it sizeable Special bulk because it already naturally has a very high Special Defense stat and more HP works well with this.
Maximizing Regice's Special Attack along with a Quiet nature ensures that it is dealing as much damage as possible.
Clear Body allows Regice to ignore status reductions. This is especially good against attacks like Eerie Impulse or Snarl.
Weakness Policy gives Regice a boost to its offensive stats. Regice is able to tank most hits thanks to its good bulk, and the Weakness Policy boost allows it to be offensively threatening.
Blizzard | Blizzard lets Regice have a more powerful Max Hailstorm, but it is less consistent outside of Dynamax because Blizzard is inaccurate. |
---|---|
Thunder | Thunder lets Regice have a more powerful Max Lightning, but it is less consistent outside of Dynamax because Thunder is inaccurate. |
Ancient Power | Ancient Power gives Regice access to Max Rockfall during Dynamax, which may be good against opposing Fire-type Pokemon. |
Icy Wind | Icy Wind is a good form of Speed Control that Regice has access to. It is a good option if your team doesn't already have other reliable forms of Speed Control. |
Regice's poor Speed stat and weaknesses to common types make it an easy target. So positioning it so that it doesn't take much too much damage is critical for a lategame Regice sweep. This Pokemon also thrives in Trick Room where it will be the fastest thing on the field most of the time.
Regice enjoys teammates that can support it on the physical end. Dual Screens or Intimidate users are good teammates for Regice to have. Regice also does well in Trick Room teams because of its low Speed stat.
Support | Dynamax Attacker | Role |
---|---|---|
Incineroar | Regice | Gothitelle |
Incineroar supports Regice with its Intimidate Ability, giving Regice more survivability on the physical side. This works well with Regice's Weakness Policy strategy, because Regice can more effectively tank hits.
Gothitelle can set up Trick Room for Regice, and can trigger its Weakness Policy with Brick Break.
Weakness |
---|
Regice is easily walled by Special Walls. It is also easily knocked out by strong super-effective Physical attacks.
