What are Priority Moves

Fake Out.png

Priority moves are moves that will always go first or last depending on the priority. These moves have been an instrumental part of competitive Pokemon as they allow you to gain an advantage in tempo over your opponent.

Being able to attack first with moves like Fake Out automatically puts you in an advantage especially in Doubles.

Speed Tiebreaker

If two of the same priority move was used by the players, the faster Pokemon will always go first. The same mechanics apply to moves with decreased priority but the slower Pokemon will go last.

Trick Room

Even under the effects of Trick Room, the priority of these moves will still be followed. Meaning moves like Extreme Speed will still go first under its effect.
