Final Stat Values | HP 165 / Atk. 152 / Def. 111 / Sp.Atk. 90 / Sp.Def. 90 / Spd. 139 |
Ability | Hustle |
Held Item | Choice Scarf |
Moveset | ・Bolt Beak ・Aerial Ace ・Fire Fang ・Outrage |
These values are from base stats and ideal EVs, excluding external factors.
With Dracozolt's exclusive move, Bolt Beak, as its main attack, it relies on the Choice Scarf to hit first and deal massive damage. Bolt Beak's effect causes it to deal double damage when it attacks first, so its speed is maximized to increase this potential in spite of its low base speed.
To deal further damage, we've included its ability Hustle for this build, which boosts the power of its attacks while sacrificing accuracy. It's an extremely easy to use Pokemon – simply spam attacks against enemies it can handle, and switch it out for those it can't.
Dragon Claw | An alternate choice for Outrage. It trades a power drop to avoid the confusion caused by Outrage, so it's useful if you want to use Dracozolt without switching out. |
---|---|
Flamethrower | An okay alternative to Fire Fang. Since it's a Special Attack-type, it does not pack as much damage as Fire Fang when used by Dracozolt. |
Earthquake | A great coverage move for taking down Electric, Poison, and Steel-types. |
Low Kick | Coverage move against Normal and Fighting-type Pokemon. |

Ability | Hustle |
Held Item | Assault Vest |
Moveset | ・Bolt Beak ・Fire Fang ・Outrage ・Aerial Ace |
These values are from base stats and ideal EVs, excluding external factors.
With Dracozolt holding an Assault Vest, you will be able to defend against special attackers like Togekiss, Charizard, and Wash Rotom. Adding Aerial Ace to this moveset allows you to use Max Airstream when Dynamaxed, which perfectly combines with Bolt Beak.
Dragon Claw | A Dragon-type move that doesn't miss, but has low power. |
The power boost from Dracozolt's ability, Hustle, combined with the doubled power of Bolt Beak, set it up to knock opponents flat from the getgo, and potentially even sweep the opponent's team. Its type combination of Electric and Dragon is also excellent, rendering it capable of both dishing out huge damage while taking attacks with reduced damage from a variety of types.
Pokemon that are strong against Dragon or Fairy-type Pokemon make for great matchups with Dracozolt by taking care of Pokemon it can't or switching in to deal the final blow.
Pokemon strong against Ground-type attacks are useful as well. Corviknight is one such Pokemon, with the ability to learn U-turn which allows it to switch in and out with Draczolt as necessary.

Weakness |
---|
Unfortunately for Dracozolt, its weaknesses to Ground and Fairy type make it a poor choice to handle many of the most prevalent Pokemon in the metagame, including Excadrill, Sylveon, and Mimikyu. Simply having one of these Pokemon in your party should be sufficient to handle it.
Pokemon | Description |
---|---|
Excadrill | Ranking: ★★★★★ ・Has an effective typing to handle Dracozolt ・Can definitively survive a hit when holding Focus Sash Moveset & Best Build for Excadrill |
Mimikyu | Ranking: ★★★★★ ・Has an effective typing to handle Dracozolt ・Its ability Disguise ensures its ability to move at least once Moveset & Best Build for Mimikyu |
You can stop a high-powered Dracozolt by upping your defense. Rhyperior, Quagsire, and Galarian Corsola's defense stats are hard to beat, especially when Dynamaxed.
Pokemon | Description |

Rhyperior | Ranking: ★★★★★ ・Ground and Rock-type advantage over Dracozolt's Electric-type. ・Attack with high power, while enduring attacks with high defense. Moveset & Best Build for Rhyperior |
Quagsire | Ranking: ★★★★☆ ・Ignores stat boosts of opponents' attacks. ・High Defense. Moveset & Best Build for Quagsire |
