This is a page on the Digging Duo, their location, the differences between them, and the list of rare items you can get from them in the game Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Digging Duo Location

The Digging Duo is two burrowing brothers found standing near the Bridge Field Daycare Center located in the Wild Area.

The Digging Duo are dressed like hikers. If you cannot find them, try looking for them along the cliff.

Get a Rare Item for 500W

Digging Duo.jpg

For 500W or Watts, you can get a rare item. Each brother has a specialty. The left brother has skill, while the right brother has stamina.

The number of times you can get a certain item is random, as you can get the same item at least once or over 20 times.

To learn how to get more Watts quickly, see our guide!

Digging Duo Differences

Skill Brother (Left) Digs Up Rarer Items

The skill brother (left) can dig up rarer items, but gets tired easily. If you prefer quality over quantity, ask him to dig up items for you.

You can get rarer items from the skill brother (left). These include Gold Bottle Cap, which you can use to maximize all IVs of a Pokemon, and Wishing Piece, which can summon a Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon from a Poke Den--perfect in the Wild Area.

Since you can get Fossil items with a higher probability here than from the stamina brother (right), the skill brother (left) is more cost-efficient. The downside is that he gets tired easily.

You can get a wider variety of items from the stamina brother (right). He can also dig up more times than the skill brother (left). However, there is a lower probability of receiving Pokemon Fossils from him.

As the number of trials increases, the number of items that can be dug up also increases; the disadvantage is that it will be difficult to get your target item.

Which of the Digging Duo is Better

Skill Brother (Left) for Fossils and Gold Bottle Cap

Dug Up Fossil.jpg
If you are aiming to obtain Fossil items, or Gold Bottle Cap so you can maximize your Pokemon's IVs, it is better to go to the skill brother (left).

A reminder that because he has less stamina, he digs up lesser items than the stamina brother, but if you are aiming for these specific items, then go for it!

How to Use Gold Bottle Cap

Special Appearances of Items

Gold Bottle Cap Is Dug Out

Gold Bottle Cap ImageGold Bottle Cap

The Gold Bottle Cap can be attained much more frequently from the skill brother (left). The digger will make an extra comment in the event of finding a Gold Bottle Cap.

Skill Brother Digs Out More

Skill brother.jpg
The skill brother (left) stops digging once he is tired. However, there are instances that he will continue to dig up more items than normal after making a comment like this:

Wait! No! I'm not finished yet!
I can still keep on digging!
