This is a list of sound-based moves in Pokemon Sword and Shield, Isle of Armor, and the Crown Tundra DLC. Read on to learn more about these moves, their interaction with abilities, items, and their effects in battle.

List of Sound-Based Moves

Moves Type Effect
Boomburst Pokemon Normal Image The user attacks everything around it with the destructive power of a terrible, explosive sound.
Bug Buzz Pokemon Bug Image The user generates a damaging sound wave by vibration. This may also lower the target's Sp. Def stat.
Chatter Pokemon Flying Image The user attacks the target with sound waves of deafening chatter. This confuses the target.
Clanging Scales Pokemon Dragon Image The user rubs the scales on its entire body and makes a huge noise to attack the opposing Pokemon. The user's Defense stat goes down after the attack.
Clangorous Soul Pokemon Dragon Image The user raises all its stats by using some of its HP.
Confide Pokemon Normal Image The user tells the target a secret, and the target loses its ability to concentrate. This lowers the target's Special Attack stat.
Disarming Voice Pokemon Fairy Image User does emotional damage to the target by letting out a charming cry. This attack never misses
Echoed Voice Pokemon Normal Image The user attacks the target with an echoing voice. If this move is used every turn, its power is increased
Eerie Spell Pokemon Psychic Image Deals damage while also reducing the PP of the opponent's previously-used move by 3.
Growl Pokemon Normal Image The user growls in an endearing way, making opposing Pokemon less wary. This lowers their Attack stat.
Heal Bell Pokemon Normal Image The user makes a soothing bell chime to heal the status conditions of all the party Pokemon
Howl Pokemon Normal Image The user howls loudly to raise the spirit of itself and allies. This raise their Attack stats.
Hyper Voice Pokemon Normal Image The user lets loose a horribly echoing shout with the power to inflict damage.
Metal Sound Pokemon Steel Image A horrible sound like scraping metal harshly lowers the target's Sp. Def stat.
Noble Roar Pokemon Normal Image Letting out a noble roar, the user intimidates the target and lowers its Attack and Sp. Atk stat.
Overdrive Pokemon Electric Image The user attacks opposing Pokémon by twanging a guitar or bass guitar, causing a huge echo and strong vibration.
Parting Shot Pokemon Dark Image With a parting threat, the user lowers the target's Attack and Sp. Atk stats. Then it switches with a party Pokmeon.
Perish Song Pokemon Normal Image Any Pokmeon that hears this song faints in three turns, unless it switches out of battle.
Relic Song Pokemon Normal Image The user sings an ancient song and attacks by appealing to the hearts of the listening opposing Pokemon. This may also induce sleep.
Roar Pokemon Normal Image The target is scared off, and a different Poemon is dragged out. In the wild, this ends a battle against a single Pokemon.
Round Pokemon Normal Image The user attacks the target with a song. Others can join in the Round to increase the power of the attack.
Screech Pokemon Normal Image An earsplitting screech harshly lowers the target's Defense stat.
Sing Pokemon Normal Image A soothing lullaby is sung in a calming voice that puts the target into a deep slumber.
Snarl Pokemon Dark Image The user yells as if it's ranting about something, which lowers the Sp. Atk stat of opposing Pokemon.
Snore Pokemon Normal Image This attack can be used only if the user is asleep. The harsh noise may also make the target flinch.
Sparkling Aria Pokemon Water Image The user bursts into song, emitting many bubbles. Any Pokemon suffering from a burn will be healed by the touch of these bubbles.
Supersonic Pokemon Normal Image The user generates odd sound waves from its body that confuse the target.
Uproar Pokemon Normal Image The user attacks in an uproar for three turns. During that time, no Pokemon can fall asleep.

Sound-based moves use sound as a way to inflict damage or its effect onto a Pokemon. These moves have unique interactions with different abilities, items, and moves.

Ability Description
Soundproof Gives immunity to ‘sound-based‘ moves.
Punk Rock Boosts the power of sound-based moves. The Pokémon also takes half the damage from these kinds of moves.

Throat Chop Pokemon Dark Image The user attacks the target's throat, and resultant suffering prevents the target from using moves that emit sound for two turns.

Support to Sound-Based Moves

Ability Description
Liquid Voice All sound-based moves become Water-type moves.
Punk Rock Boosts the power of sound-based moves. The Pokémon also takes half the damage from these kinds of moves.
