Pokemon That Learn Max Mindstorm

Max Mindstorm is usable by all Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon who know at least one Psychic-type damaging move. That move will be replaced with Max Mindstorm while the Pokemon is Dynamaxed.

In the case of Gigantamax Pokemon, they may not be able to learn this move if their Psychic-type damaging moves are instead replaced by their signature G-Max Move.

Competitive Analysis

Almost any Pokemon can generally benefit from using Max Mindstorm. Using this move will spawn Psychic Terrain on the field and will affect all grounded Pokemon.

Once the terrain is in the field, Psychic-type Pokemon will earn a boost to their Psychic-type attacks, opening up a path for the Double Expanding Force strategy.

Additionally, all affected Pokemon will be immune to priority moves, including those that receive priority from the likes of Prankster.

Disrupting Other Terrain's Strategies

You can use Max Mindstorm to change the terrain when one is already in the field.

You can use this to shut down Electric Terrain to weaken Electric-type Pokemon and allow Pokemon to fall asleep again.
