Complete the first Varuna Gatha quest to automatically unlock Slumbering Roots. It is one of the three required sub quests to progress Varuna Gatha, alongside Irate Iron Chunk and Memory of Stone.

Slumbering Roots Quest Objectives

1. Head to the Grove of Dreams.
2. Lure the Aranara with the Vintage Lyre.
3. Find the "branch" on top of the three.
4. Play the Vintage Lyre on the Silapna rock.
5. Turn the three leaves towards the branch.
6. Return to Arakunti from the Silapna rock.
7. Talk to Arakunti.

Head to the Grove of Dreams

	How to Go to Grove of Dreams
1	Head southwest of Apam Woods, and follow the road below the nearby domain.
2	At the end of the road, you should see a hole with a Four-Leaf Sigil above it.
3	Drop down the hole and keep moving forward until you find yourself in the Grove of Dreams.

Play the Rhythm of the Great Dream to lure the Aranara out

Whip out your Vintage Lyre and play the Rhythm of the Great Dream while standing on the designated location.

How to Use the Vintage Lyre in Sumeru

Find the "branch" with Arakunti

The "branch" is located behind the large tree in the middle of the Grove of Dreams, and up its branches. You can use the nearby Clusterleaves of Cultivation and Bouncy Mushrooms to navigate there easily.

Play the Rhythm of the Great Dream in front of Silapna

Just across the branch, play the Rhythm of the Great Dream on the Silapna rock to change the state of your surroundings to the Dream State.

Make the three "leaves" in the dream turn towards the "branch"

	"Leaves" Locations
1	The first leaf is just beside the Silapna rock. Rotate it one time.
2	Use the four-leaf sigils to latch yourself and go the left side of the main branch.
3	The second leaf should be on a ledge beside two Viparyas. Rotate it twice.
4	Head to the right direction of the main branch this time.
5	Keep using the sigils until you see the sleeping Ruin Drake beside the last leaf.
6	Defeat the Ruin Drake, Ruin Cruiser, and Ruin Destroyer.
7	Rotate the last leaf once.

Return to Arakunti

Play the Rhythm of the Great Dream once more on the Silapna Rock with the Vintage Lyre to return to Arakunti. Afterwards, jump to Arakunti's location beside the branch and talk to it to complete the quest!
