Ruin Drakes are Sumeru enemies in Genshin Impact 3.0. See the release date for the new ruin machine enemies, locations, and attack patterns here!
List of Contents
Ruin Drakes can often be found resting in open fields or near ruins in Sumeru's Rainforest Area.
Similar to their behavior in the Rainforest, Ruin Drakes in the Desert are found near ruins. They are commonly seen in solitary or in pairs.
You can also find a Ruin Drake at a ruin in Elynas in Fontaine. In Natlan, a Ruin Drake is located at one of the islands in Ochkanatlan.

A type of Ruin Machines called the Ruin Drakes are found in parts of Sumeru after the Version 3.0 update!
They are similar to other existing Ruin Machines, like the Ruin Guard or Ruin Sentinels. There are two types of Ruin Drakes; the Earthguard, and the Skywatch.

Both Ruin Drakes can periodically release a torrent of energy that deal AoE damage.

The Ruin Drake: Earthguard and Skywatch gain Elemental Resistance based on the previous main Elemental DMG that they receive, and can even infuse the element into their Energy Torrent Attack!
When absorbing an element from the previous Elemental DMG it receives, both Ruin Drakes have a chance to attack with Energy Torrents affected by the element.
To temporarily bring down the Ruin Drake, hit the weak spot at the center of its body when it's exposed. You can also aim for the head when it's glowing and charging up!
The Ruin Drake: Earthguard will rush at the character and attempt to headbutt or hit with its tail, which is easily avoided by dashing at the last second or generally keeping your distance.
The Ruin Drake: Skywatch will paint a target on the player and attack with a volley of missiles, much like Ruin Guards and Ruin Graders. Sprint at the last minute to avoid this attack!
The Ruin Drake: Skywatch flips its body to slam its tail on the ground and deal damage. This attack is slow and can easily be dodged.
The Ruin Drake: Skywatch shoots a slew of scattered shots from its wings, which can be avoided by continuous movement and dodging to the side of the enemy.
