Gigantamax energy has caused Rillaboom’s stump to grow into a drum set that resembles a forest.
Rillaboom has become one with its forest of drums and continues to lay down beats that shake all of Galar.

Gigantamax Rillaboom's G-Max Move

G-Max Drum Solo.jpeg

Move Type Effect
G-Max Drum Solo Pokemon Grass Image A Grass-type attack that Gigantamax Rillaboom use. This move ignores the effects of opponents' abilities.

Rillaboom's G-Max Move, G-Max Drum Solo, looks like a powered-up version of its exclusive move, Drum Beating. Rillaboom's drums grow with the power of the earth into a small forest, for a rockin' jam sesh that is described to cross over seas. Like the G-Max Moves of its fellow Galar starters, it has 160 Power, more than any other G-Max Move available.

Ignores opponents' abilities

Mimikyu with Disguise normally would block the initial attack against it.

Along with the G-Max Moves of Gigantamax Cinderace and Gigantamax Inteleon, G-Max Drum Solo will ignore opponents' Abilities when attacking.

These G-Max Moves pose a significant threat to Mimikyu and other Pokemon who rely heavily on their Ability. On the other hand, using its Gigantamax form removes Rillaboom's Ability to set up Grassy Terrain with Max Overgrowth, so players will have to weigh their priorities.

How to Obtain Gigantamax Rillaboom

Gigantamax Rillaboom.jpg

Gigantamax Rillaboom is only available in The Isle of Armor expansion, available in the Expansion Pass DLC.

You can unlock Gigantamax Rillaboom on the Isle of Armor by feeding any Rillaboom in your party or box Max Soup.

Evolve Grookey

Like the other Galar Starters, Rillaboom cannot be caught in-game, so players must evolve Grookey to obtain it. Grookey can be obtained as a starter Pokemon at the beginning of the game, or as a free present through Pokemon HOME.
