How to Catch Zacian with High IVs

Things to do first

Turn off Autosave

Autosave Off
If you aim to catch a Zacian with high IVs and a good nature, be sure that you first press X and go into Options, then turn Autosave Off. With Autosave off, you will be able to reroll each time to aim for the best Zacian obtainable.

Set your Text Speed to Fast

Text Speed Fast
There will be a wall of text to pass through after completing the battle with the Legendary Pokemon Zacian. Setting your text speed to Fast will significantly reduce the time required to get through this process.

Steps to Catching Zacian

1. Save your progress in front of Zacian
2. Speak with Zacian and initiate battle
3. Throw your Master Ball
4. Proceed throught the dialogue and finish the event
5. Check its stats
We recommend Jolly or Adamant!

Note: After finishing, speaking with Hop deep withing Slumbering Weald will trigger another event.

Aim for the Jolly or Adamant Nature!

Zacian's ability Intrepid Sword will allow it to start battle with its Attack stat raised. Obtaining a Zacian with a Jolly or Adamant Nature will make its Attack stat growth rate even better, allowing it to easily overwhelm opponents with its high firepower.

Save your progress right in front of Zacian

In Front of Zacian
In order to initiate combat with Zacian, you first need to speak with it. This means that no matter how close to it you get, nothing will happen, so if you plan on rerolling for the best Zacian, save your progress as close to Zacian as possible.

How to Change Zacian's Forms

Make Zacian hold the Rusted Sword and enter battle

Hero of Many Battles Crowned Sword
Zacian Zacian Crowned Sword

Giving Zacian its signature item Rusted Sword and entering battle will make its form change. When caught, it will not actually be in its transformed state automatically. Since Rusted Sword is a Key Item every player will already have, it will be very simple to change its form to the Crowned Sword version.
