Scald is one of the best moves in general regardless of types. This move offers versatility as a primary STAB move for Water-type Pokemon as well as coverage for non-Water Pokemon. The base 80 power and 100 accuracy makes this a reliable option on any Pokemon that can learn it.
However, the 30% chance to burn the target is what separates Scald from the rest. Not only does burn deal continuous damage, but it also lowers the power of physical attacks.
List of Moves that Inflict Status Conditions
Scald is available to purchase from the Watt Traders in the Wild Area for 3000 Watts.
The Watt Traders' selection of TM and TRs changes everyday so make sure to check what's in stock!
It's also possible to get Scald from Water-type Max Raid dens as a reward for defeating or catching the resident Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon.
It's also possible to get Scald from the Cram-o-Matic, although the chances are still low even when using the right items.
