How to Unlock A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre

Complete the Previous Subquest

To unlock A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre, you must have first completed the previous subquest of Ancient Colors, A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson!

Unlocking A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre quest also automatically unlocks There Will Come Soft Rains, since both are basically the same quests!

Collect Strange parts

As per "Father's" instructions, you need to collect Strange Parts to fix Seymour. You can get Strange Parts from completing quests from other Melusines in Merusea Village, or by scouring the area and solving puzzles!

You must collect a total of four (4) Strange Parts, but you can obtain more than what's required to progress the quest, and exchange them for goodies!

	Where to Get Strange Part
1	You can collect one Strange Part from Serene, which automatically triggers as soon as you head towards Merusea Village.
2	You can get another copy of Strange Part by talking to Iara who's fishing just behind the Merusea Village. After placing the bait, and fighting the Ball Octopus, Iara will give you one Strange Part!
3	You can get the third Strange Part by diving down the pool beneath Mamere's house, and solving the Echoing Conch puzzle. Simply activate the conch, and investigate all the areas that the conch reveals! Once done, open the Exquisite Chest to get the Strange Part inside!
4	You can get another Strange Part by talking to Cosanzeana, and offering her a flower to plant. After watering the flowers, she will give you a Strange Part as a thanks!
5	You can also get one Strange Part for each quest given by the other Melusines. The following are the quests that you can finish to obtain one copy of it: “Hey, This Isn’t Pumpkin Soup…” Book of Esoteric Revelations The Lone Phantom Sail

How to Collect Strange Parts

Return to Mamere

Once you've collected all four (4) Strange Parts, return to Mamere at their house. Then, wait for Mamere to fix Seymour with "Father's" guidance.

Head to the designated location

After a brief cutscene, head to the designated location where the Melusines who are in danger are located. Once you've arrived at "A Very Bright Place", defeat the Rifthounds, and find the hiding Melusine nearby.

Find the trapped Melusine

Dive underwater, and talk to Glaisti who will ask you to find the trapped Melusine named Puca. Puca is trapped inside a ball of seagrass nearby.

Cut the Seagrass

Swim towards Puca's location, and cut the seagrass to free the Melusine. Use your Transoceanic Sourcewater to absorb the nearby Hunter Ray's ability to cut the seagrass.

Talk to the rescued Melusine

Talk to the rescued Melusine, then head to the designated location afterwards. Just swim along the path, and go past the big underwater conch. You'll eventually see a Fontaine Current that will carry you along the designated location!

Return to Merusea Village

After talking to Glaisti and Puca, accompany Seymour towards the shortcut, and go through the layers of rock using Seymour's advanced mining module.

Head to the designated location through the shortcut

Aftewards, go directly to the wormhole beside the Teleport Waypoint in Merusea Village to easily access A Lonely Place. Once there, defeat the Rifthounds beside an encased ore.

Use the Prismatic Resonance to investigate the ore

Once the enemies have been cleared out, use the prism to remove the encased ore. There are a bunch of prisms around that you can use, so simply use the one that can you can easily access. Then, talk to the rescued Melusine, Virda.

Defeat the Rifthounds

The Eremites that Jakob hired will eventually come running as they escape a group of monsters tailing behind them. Defeat the Rifthounds, then talk to Mamere who has fallen ill because of sudden wave of pain.
