How to Unlock The Red and the Black Quest

Complete the Vagrants and Scamps Quest

To unlock the The Red and the Black quest, it will only appear after completing Vagrants and Scamps, which is the first part in the Questioning Melusine and Answering Machine quest chain.

Go to the Palais Mermonia to meet with Talochard

Wait until the following morning and change the game's time 8:00. Go to Palais Mermonia to meet up with Talochard and Curve inside.

Go to the Elegant Tableware Confrerie

Go underwater until you reach the depths of the trench and a shipwreck. Take the Hydro Ring in Elton Trench to go to the base of the Elegant Tableware Confrerie.

Find a way to distract the crowd

Use the cooking pot on the boat as a means to covertly find a way to distract the crowd. Place Talochard's Poissonchant Pie in the pot before the suspicious group takes their meal.

Search for evidence of the crime

Check all the investigation glowing spots in the area to proceed. Be sure to take note of all clues while the group is distracted!

Confront the Graceful Water Goblin Group

The members will deny any connection to the crime event so it's time use some clues! Show the diary evidence to confront the members of the Graceful Water Goblin Group.

Pursue the Fatui

Approach the Fatui in the bar of Fleuve Cendre. He'll try to make a run for it so be prepared to pursue and chase the Fatui agent!

Go to Hotel Debord

Wait until night or change the game's time to 19:00 evening. At night, go to Hotel Debord and meet up with Talochard for dinner.

Reenact the order of their arrival

Go to The Steambird, the scene of the crime. The crew will reenact the order of who was there on that night. Rocher was the first to arrive then Baulard came second. After the two, Intrepid Valberry was the third to reach the office and Kevin was the last to be there.
