In Search of Lost Time How to Unlock
Go to the Broken Bridge Near the Fontaine Research Institute
To begin the quest, go southwest of New Fontaine Research Institute to the broken bridge. From there, look for Broglie near the wall; speaking with him will start the In Search of Lost Time South quest.
Head Straight to West and North Tower
You can alternatively go straight to the West and North towers before speaking with Broglie. Going to those locations first will also trigger the In Search of Lost Time West or North quests, depending on which tower you go.

In Search of Lost Time: South
Following your conversation with Broglie, proceed to the sunken tower directly below the collapsed bridge. Dive beneath the surface and search for the open window beside the tower. Inside, you'll discover a book with instructions for using the research terminal.
How to Charge the Research Terminal
| Step by Step Guide | |

| 1 |  Dive down to the outside of the tower till you see a Deepwater Water Assual Mek to defeat. Defeating this Mek will activate a mechanism that allows you to gain entry to the tower. |
| 2 |  Use the Xenochromatic Jellyfish ability to trigger the mechanism and open the door. |
| 3 |  Interact with the energy transfer terminal to begin switching between lenses. |
| 4 |  First, switch to the red lens next to the inactive energy device. |
| 5 |  Next, switch to the red lens located in the upper right corner of your screen. |
| 6 |  Then finally the red lens below the destroyed bookshelf. |
| 7 |  Absorb the energy of the activated energy device by aiming your crosshairs at it and pressing enter or right-click. |
| 8 |  This time you'll need to switch to blue lenses after absorbing the energy. |
| 9 |  Transfer the energy to the deactivated energy device then exit the terminal. |
| 10 |  Head back up the research terminal and activate it to get the research data. |
| 11 |  Go back to Broglie and speak with him to deliver the data. |
In Search of Lost Time: North
The north tower is located near the New Fontaine Research Institute. On the side of the tower, there is a wooden platform and a wooden ladder that you can climb to get inside the tower. Entering the tower will initiate a dialogue and begin the quest In Search of Lost Time: North.
How to Go to the Lower Level

| 1 |  Head one level below to find a barrier blocking the stairs and a locked common chest. |
| 2 |  Activate the Energy Transfer Terminal and use it to switch lenses. |
| 4 |  Absorb the energy from the device next to the terminal and transfer it to the device next to the cage. This will open both the barrier and the cage. |
| 5 |  Descend down the staircase and defeat the Fatui. Defeating them will get you access to portable energy storage, which you can use to reach the upper level. |
How to Unlock the Upper Level
| Step by Step Guide | |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Pick up the portable energy storage once you've defeated the Fatui, bring it back up, and set it down on the room by pressing "T." |
| 2 |  Utilize the terminal once more to absorb the energy from the active energy device and transfer it to the portable energy storage. |
| 3 |  Take the portable energy storage device and use it to turn on the terminal upstairs. When you activate the terminal, you will be able to enter the upper floors. |
| 4 |  Take the portable energy storage up another floor and set up it close to the Stabilizer. |
| 5 | Activate the stabilizer to begin a minigame in which you must hit the stabilizer once the ring lands the blue zone. |
| 6 |  After solving the puzzle, head up one last time and interact with the research terminal to obtain the research data. |
In Search of Lost Time: West
The west tower is situated northwest of Liffey Region by the Mont Esus East cliffs. This time, the tower is already open, and you can enter through the front door.
How to Look for Clues in the Nearby Camp
| Step by Step Guide | |

| 1 |  As soon as you enter the tower, Fatui's will welcome you. Defeat all of the Fatui on the first and second floors. |
| 2 |  After eliminating all enemies, proceed up the stairs, however the path to the fourth floor is blocked by a barrier. |
| 3 |  On the third floor investigate the note on the table to find some clues on how to access the upper floors. |
| 4 |  The memo mentioned two camps to investigate: one on the cliff and the other near the destroyed bridge. Both carry a note, but the one near the cliff is the one you need. |
| 5 |  There will be Fatui at the camp waiting for you; defeat them and read the note for the next clue. |
| 6 |  The note mentioned striking a pot, so hit the pot in the camp near the entrance to the tower. This will summon a new group of Fatui for you to deal with. |
| 7 | After dealing with the Fatui, you can return to the tower and solve the Stabilizer puzzle. Hit the Stabilizer when the ring around it lands on the blue zone. |
| 8 |  Completing the puzzle will grant entry to the last area above, allowing you to obtain the research data and the precious chest. |
Head to the Central Processing Station
After acquiring all of the research data, you must meet with Broglie at the New Fontaine Research Institute. He will ask you to accompany him to the Central Processing Station, which is north of the Laboratory Ruins.
After a brief cutscene, a Fatui Commander will come and abruptly flee, leading you to go after them.
How to Chase Down the Fatui Commander
| Step by Step Guide | |

| 1 |  Broglie will automatically go to open the door upon arrival at the Station. Inside, you'll find a luxurious chest and a hole into which you must jump. |
| 2 |  You will need to activate the terminal below to start a brief cutscene that leads to you chasing after the Fatui Commander. |
| 3 |  Go down the stairs to find another Terminal puzzle. Activate the terminal to begin transferring energy. |
| 4 |  Transfer the energy from the activated energy device to the above-the-shelf portable energy storage. |
| 5 |  Pick up the portable energy storage and position it close to the terminal near the stairs. When you activate the terminal, the barrier on the window will be removed. |
| 6 |  Dive through the window and below the entryway to find another Terminal. |
| 7 |  Unlock the door with the Terminal and proceed upstairs to discover the Fatui Commander. Battle the Commander till they flee once more. |
| 8 |  Dive outside the tower once more and use the Turbulent Rings to track down the Fatui Commander. Defeat the Commander and other Fatui, then speak with Broglie to finally complete the quest. |
In Search of Lost Time Information
One of the World Quest in 4.1 Fontaine
In Search of Lost Time is a world quest that may be found while exploring the new sections of Fontaine in Version 4.1. During this quest, you must examine four towers and solve the puzzles within them.
Completing all of the quests and towers will net you two Precious Chests, one Luxurious Chest, and the achievement “The Forgotten Ream”!

yup, the quest doesn't appear in your quest notebook thingy when you need to do the north and south towers. just check both and if you can get in to the top of one and can't get a print out thing (because you already interacted with it), you've done it already and can check the other spots.
