The Ultra Beast Drop Event in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket (PTCG Pocket) ran from June 4, 2025 to June 14, 2025. Follow our guide to see the cards tied to Promo-A Vol. 9, which cards are best to get, and tips and strategies to complete the solo battles and their missions.
The Ultra Beast Drop Event ran from June 4, 2025 to June 14, 2025.
This event allowed players to participate in solo AI battles featuring the Ultra Beast cards, along with receiving useful rewards by completing battle-related missions.
To participate in solo battles, you will need to use Event Stamina. Event Stamina is consumed for each win, meaning that losing won’t affect your stamina in this mode.
Additionally, you can replenish Event Stamina with Event Hourglasses, which you can earn as rewards from the beginner and intermediate solo battles, or Poke Gold.

You can also get a Ultra Necrozma ex card along with other Ultra Beast cards from Promo-A Vol. 9 as an Ultra Beast Drop Event reward.
You have a chance to get this pack whenever you complete a match against the AI, but expert battles are guaranteed to reward you with this pack, so it is a good idea to farm these matches to collect all the cards!

Ultra Necrozma ex and Dusk Mane Necrozma are cards that are unique to this promo pack and cannot be found in regular expansions sets.
Ultra Necrozma ex is the first Dragon-type ex card, and has no weaknesses. Its second move, Shoegaze deals a lot of damage and has the powerful effect of discarding the top 5 cards of your opponent's deck. However, this comes at the cost of discarding your own cards as well. Nonetheless, if you build the right cards around it, you can have a very strong deck that can corner your opponent.
Dusk Mane Necrozma is also a good card to obtain. Since it is a Basic card, it can be set down right away and played during the early game. It deals a heavy 100 damage per hit, and since it is a non-ex card, your opponent will only win 1 point if it is defeated.
Additionally, there have not been any reruns of promo cards so far. There is a chance that these cards will no longer be available to get once the event period is over.

Whenever you receive a promo pack as a reward, you can open it in your gift list found in the upper right of the main menu.
A pack only contains one of the available promo cards, so try to get and open as many packs as you can!

In Event Solo Battles, you can battle against different decks that scale on difficulty. Once you have defeated a deck, the next deck will be unlocked containing harder cards than the last.
There are only 4 levels of Solo Battle: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert—with Expert giving you a guaranteed card pack pull from the event.

Nihilego's ability can boost the damage inflicted from Poison. This effect also stacks, so if you can get 2 Nihilegos on the board, you can potentially deal 30 Poison damage per turn.

Nihilego and Poison work well with Pokemon that are able to inflict boosted damage to an opposing Pokemon afflicted with Poison. Absol and Clodsire ex are great options because their attacks get boosted when an opposing Pokemon has a Status Condition.

Although the Ultra Necrozma ex Expert Deck uses multiple Pokemon with different weaknesses, most of the cards are weak to Fire-types.
It's best to use Turtonator in the early game to knock out at least one Pokemon. Turtonator can easily KO Stakataka and Dusk Mane Necrozma. Use Kiawe to set up its attack faster.
Once you've gotten one or two points, you can let Turtonator go down and use Lusamine to set up Blacephalon with the fainted Turtonator's Energy. It is recommended to have the Beastite Pokemon Tool attached to Blacephalon to boost its damage output even further.

Losing or conceding during the event battles does not consume Event Stamina, as it is only used up whenever you win a match.
This means that if you lose against your AI opponent or fail to complete one of the missions you are trying to complete, you can always try again without worrying about your stamina!
