Pokemon TCG Pocket - A1 140 DugtrioDugtrio Pokemon TCG Pocket - A1 149 GolemGolem ・Dugtrio can effectively stall if lucky with Coin Flips.
・Golem's high damage can finish off defenders and secure points easily.
・Speed up energy stacking on Golem with Brock.

Best Starting Hand

Starting out with your core carries would be optimal, giving you the least amount of time to set up Dugtrio, and start dealing damage and walling with Dig immediately.

Alternatively, you can start with Hitmonlee, and attack your opponent's Bench to prevent setups and evolutions while you build Dugtrio and Golem.

Strategy 1: Dig Wall

Dig Wall
A1 140
A1 149 P-A 001

Playing Dugtrio while Golem is benched allows you to deal damage and effectively defend with Dig, while you stack energy on Golem.

Dugtrio will constantly hold out and receive no damage as long as you are lucky with Coin Flips, hopefully until you manage to stack enough energy on Golem.

Strategy 2: Double Edge Sweep

Double Edge Sweep
A1 149

With 4 energy, Double Edge can OHKO most Pokemon, but also damaging itself in the process.

Ideally, you should buy enough time and deal enough damage with Dugtrio early on, while Golem nukes the defender to score the last 1 or 2 points for your team!

Brock Deck Best and Worst Matchups

Best Matchups

Deck Commentary

Pikachu ex Decks
Type: Lightning

・Golem and Dugtrio are at a type advantage against Pikachu ex decks.
・Favorable point trades.

Worst Matchups

Deck Commentary

Mewtwo ex Decks
Type: Psychic

・Hard to wall with Dugtrio against Psychic types.
・Mewtwo ex can easily OHKO Diglett with Psychic Sphere

Overall Consistency

The Brock deck relies heavily on Coin Flip luck, to deal the most damage and stall as much as possible for Dugtrio.

Double Edge can be detrimental if forced to use early, since it also takes a good chunk of HP from Golem, potentially leaving you in a tough spot with no carries if forced out early.
