A common theme for Lightning Type Cards is that they can quickly get their board set-up. They also have access to more powerful moves but come at a cost like Zapdos or Electabuzz.
They also hase the cheapest Retreat costs making them efficient at swapping around before they get knocked out so your opponent can't score Points.
Lightning Type Cards are usually weak to Fighting Type Cards, make sure to swap your deck out to have either neutral or type advantage.
Lightning Type Pokemon are the best counters to Water type decks especially the ones that focus on resource manipulation since Lightning cards don't need that much resources for attacks and retreating.
