Mega Steelix ex Deck Strategy Guide

Accelerate Energy Onto Mega Steelix ex

Mega Steelix ex has a high Attack Cost, so it is best to accelerate additional Energy onto it.

You may use Brock, but this will only work while your Onix is still unevolved. Alternatively, you may use Dialga ex's Metallic Turbo.

Reduce Damage and Heal HP

Mega Steelix ex has good survivability due to its high HP and damage reduction. You may make it harder to KO using healing and damage reduction cards.

How to Beat Mega Steelix ex Decks

Use Strong Fire-Types

You may use Fire-type Pokemon with strong attacks in order to counter Mega Steelix ex. Shining Revelry Charizard ex and Mega Blaziken ex have fairly fast setups, which means that they can attack before their opponents have enough Energy.

Alternatively, you may use Mega Charizard Y to aim for the OHKO. You may pair it with Moltres ex in order to accelerate its Energy.

Discard Mega Steelix ex's Energy

You may prevent Mega Steelix ex from attacking by discarding its Energy. Because of its high Attack Cost, it may take a while before it can gain back the Energy it will lose.

Increase Your Damage Output

You may counter Mega Steelix ex's damage reduction through increasing your Pokemon's damage output. This can help you score vital KOs.

Run this instead. Much more consistent, a lot more diverse, better ramp, better coverage, more consistent survivability. Onix can deal with Pom Pom Ori if need be. It's not S Tier but it's definitely higher than C and higher than whatever this is. 2x Mega Steelix 2x Onix (Dig) 2x Dialga Ex 1x Indeedee 2x Prof Research 2x Poke Ball 1x Potion 1x X Speed 2x Rocky Helmet (Could trade for 2x Heavy Helm if desired) 1x Sabrina 1x Leaf 1x Pokemon Center Lady 1x Lyra 1x Serena
