List of Contents
| Greninja Deck Variants | Strengths and Weaknesses |
|---|---|
Suicune ex and Greninja Deck
[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Suicune ex's Ability can allow you to evolve Greninja early. • Giratina ex can act as a finisher if needed. Weaknesses: • Suicune ex deals low damage if the opponent doesn't have Benched Pokemon. |
Sylveon ex and Greninja Deck
|
Strengths:
• Sylveon ex's Ability increases the deck's consistency in finding necessary evolution cards and Trainer cards. • Psychic Energy can also be attached to Giratina ex to speed up its set up. Weaknesses: • Relies on Giratina ex and Greninja ex for damage. • This deck's main attacker, Giratina ex, also damages itself whenever it uses Chaotic Impact. |
Umbreon ex and Greninja
|
Strengths:
• Umbreon ex's Dark Chase Ability allows you to gust up an opponent's Benched Pokemon without the use of Cyrus. • Water Energy is run in the deck to allow Greninja to attack, which is useful for matchups against Pom-Pom Oricorio. • Sylveon ex's Ability increases the deck's consistency in finding necessary evolution cards and Trainer cards. Weaknesses: • Umbreon ex does not deal much damage by itself. |
Kingdra ex and Greninja Deck
|
Strengths:
• Kingdra ex has an inexpensive Stormy Prison Attack, which only costs 2 Water Energy to use. • Stormy Prison can lock the defending Pokemon into the Active Spot and prevent it from retreating. Weaknesses: • Kingdra ex is a Stage 2, which requires some effort and resources to set up. |
Pom-Pom Oricorio and Greninja Deck
|
Strengths:
• Oricorio can counter ex Pokemon effectively. • Greninja can snipe the opponent's Benched Pokemon using its Ability. • Giratina ex is self-sufficient and can generate its own Psychic energy. Weaknesses: • Oricorio has low HP that can be easily beaten by a non-ex Pokemon. • Multiple energy types may lead to delayed set-up. |

Suicune ex's Ability allows the player to draw a card at the end of the turn. This can allow Greninja to evolve quickly and do additional damage in the early game. Since Suicune ex deals low damage if the opponent's Bench isn't filled out, Greninja can act as a useful support.
Suicune ex may not have enough damage in the late game. Giratina ex may act as a finisher once it is set up being able to deal consistent, high damage.

Sylveon ex can help you quickly set up a Greninja with its Happy Ribbon Ability which draws you two cards when you evolve it from Eevee.
An early Greninja can often win you the game, letting you snipe for 20 each turn with Water Shuriken and putting opponents into Giratina ex's KO range.
Giratina ex can safely sit on the Bench and set up with Broken-Space Bellow until it is ready to score a KO.

Umbreon ex's Dark Chase is made even more effective when played with Greninja's Water Shuriken.
These two Pokemon allow you to have precision in the damage and KOs that you take. While you may not always have the highest damage output, this deck's strength is in its ability to target and gust any Pokemon.
Consider loading up Umbreon ex first with Energy, instead of Darkrai ex because Umbreon ex will be able to attack for 80 sooner.

Pom-Pom Oricorio is used as an early game attacker and can negate damage from ex Pokemon while Greninja is set up on the Bench.
Sylveon ex gives you added card draw, helping you find valuable pieces to set up Greninja quickly.
At the end of every turn, Giratina ex can use its ability to place Psychic energy on itself. Giratina ex can be used to counter any Fighting Pokemon that Oricorio may struggle with.
Once Giratina ex is set up, switch it into the Active Spot to deal heavy damage. Greninja can lend support by dealing extra damage to the opponent's Pokemon using its ability.

Greninja can support Decidueye ex's gameplan by providing Snipe support with Water Shuriken. Once both Pokemon are online, they are capable of dealing a total of 120 damage to any Pokemon on your opponent's side.
Both Stage 2s in the deck also benefit from Rare Candy which speeds up their setup.

Greninja helps with Guzzlord ex's low damage output, by being a reliable source of damage once it is set up. Since the deck runs Darkness Energy, Guzzlord ex can also use Tyrannical Hole later in the game and deal 120 damage when it has to.
Greninja can also immediately make your Cyrus usable. Snipe a Benched Pokemon, pull it up with Cyrus, then attempt to trap it with Guzzlord ex by denying it Energy and other options.
Darkrai ex is also included in the deck, but because your Pokemon require multiple Energy to attack, your Energy attachments should be planned carefully.

Greninja plays an important role in the deck, being the deck's main source of damage outside of Giratina ex's Chaotic Impact. Water Shuriken can get opposing Pokemon into Giratina ex's KO range,
Pom-Pom Oricorio serves as a wall, which negates all damage done by ex Pokemon. Pom-Pom Oricorio with Greninja in the back using Water Shuriken, as Giratina ex sets itself up with Broken-Space Bellow is a setup that's difficult to break.
It also makes use of Shaymin to keep its Pokemon healthy by healing 10 HP every turn, as well as Irida to heal 40 damage from your Pokemon with Water Energy.
The deck runs both Water and Psychic Energy, giving you the option to have Greninja attack with Mist Slash, or attach Energy to Giratina ex to speed up its setup. The usage of Psychic Energy and non-reliance on Broken-Space Bellow can allow Giratina ex to attack earlier than it usually does in Darkrai ex and Giratina ex decks.

This deck makes use of Snorlax to deal 100 damage with Collapse using Barry's Attack Cost reduction. It also features a 2-0-2 Greninja opting to not make use of Frogadier and relying solely on Rare Candy to evolve Froakie into Greninja.
Giratina ex can sit comfortably in the Bench, using Broken-Space Bellow to set itself up for a KO turn later in the game.
Two copies of Pokemon Center Lady are used as a way to keep your Pokemon healthy, but notably for curing Snorlax of Sleep after it uses Collapse.

If you use Xatu and win the coin flip, you will reduce the opposing Pokemon's HP to 10 regardless of their max HP. This makes Xatu a powerful card, but also inconsistent.
Using Will guarantees heads on Xatu's coin flip. When the opposing Pokemon's HP is lowered to 10, you can use Greninja to snipe them using its ability.

Once you have Greninja set up on the Bench, use Water Shuriken every turn to whittle down the HPs of your opponent's Pokemon.

Greninja's partners often need multiple turns to set up. By the time Greninja is ready, use their offense in conjunction with Greninja's Water Shuriken to secure KOs.

Decks that can outpace Greninja and its partners are difficult to go up against. Faster and more efficient setup can often put Greninja decks on the back foot, making it hard for them to catch up in the mid to late game.
