The Alolan Ninetales Drop Event in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket (PTCG Pocket) ran from May 16, 2025 to May 26, 2025. Follow our guide to see the cards tied to Promo-A Vol. 8, which cards are best to get, and tips and strategies to complete the solo battles and their missions.
The Alolan Ninetales Drop Event ran from May 16, 2025 to May 26, 2025.
This event allowed players to participate in solo AI battles featuring the Alolan Ninetales card, along with receiving useful rewards by completing battle-related missions.
To participate in solo battles, you will need to use Event Stamina. Event Stamina is consumed for each win, meaning that losing won’t affect your stamina in this mode.
Additionally, you can replenish Event Stamina with Event Hourglasses, which you can earn as rewards from the beginner and intermediate solo battles, or Poke Gold.

You can also get a Promo Alolan Ninetales card along with other promo cards from Promo-A Vol. 8 as a Drop Event reward.
You have a chance to get this pack whenever you complete a match against the AI, but expert battles are guaranteed to reward you with this pack, so it is a good idea to farm these matches to collect all the cards!

The highlight card Alolan Ninetales is a must-have. Not only is it quick to build, but its special move does 20 damage to all Benched Pokemon. Once built, it can be one of the most threatening cards on the board.
Toucanon is also a good card to pull for its low Attack cost and its potential to inflict Burn on the opposing Pokemon.
Additionally, there have not been any reruns of promo cards so far. There is a chance that these cards will no longer be available to get once the event period is over.
Celestial Guardians Card List (A3)

Whenever you receive a promo pack as a reward, you can open it in your gift list found in the upper right of the main menu.
A pack only contains one of the available promo cards, so try to get and open as many packs as you can!

In Event Solo Battles, you can battle against different decks that scale on difficulty. Once you have defeated a deck, the next deck will be unlocked containing harder cards than the last.
There are only 4 levels of Solo Battle: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert—with Expert giving you a guaranteed card pack pull from the event.

HP: 150 30 Take 2 Metal Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to 1 of your Benched Pokemon. 100 |
Unlike other Water Pokemon cards, Alolan Ninetales and Crabominable ex are both weak against Metal.
Metal Decks mostly focus on dishing out as much damage as possible once they're set up on the field.
Bring Dialga ex to generate extra Metal energy for your Metal Pokemon and begin attacking right away.

The deck's strategy focuses on Skarmory putting pressure on the opposing Pokemon during the Early Game. Once Bronzong and Magnezone are built, they can finish off the remaining Pokemon.
Bronzong, in particular, can OHKO a fully built Alolan Ninetales. Since Bronzong deals additional damage for each Energy on the Defending Pokemon, it will do 130 damage on Alolan Ninetales if it has 3 energy.
Losing or conceding during the event battles does not consume Event Stamina, as it is only used up whenever you win a match.
This means that if you lose against your AI opponent or fail to complete one of the missions you are trying to complete, you can always try again without worrying about your stamina!

Bronzong and Magnezone Deck |
Strengths: • Skarmory can get aggressive very early as long as it has a Tool attached. • The main strategy is to pressure the enemy with Skarmory before finishing the opponent's Pokemon with Bronzong. • Magneton can accumulate Lightning energy safely in the Bench until Magnezone is needed to finish off the opponent's Pokemon. Weaknesses: • Bronzong takes time to setup and its damage depends on the number of energy attached to its target. • Without other sources besides Magneton's ability, Magnezone won't be able to attack once it expends all of its Lightning energy. |
