Lunala ex's Psychic Connect Ability allows it to move all attached Psychic Energy from one Benched Pokemon to your Active Pokemon.
This way, you can let one Pokemon on your side of the field accumulate Energy then move them to your main attacking Pokemon, or even Lunala ex itself, once you have enough Energy to attack.
Lunala ex also doesn't need to be in the Active Spot when preparing it, as you can use its Ability while it is on the Bench.
You can place Cosmog and evolve it all the way to Lunala ex on the Bench while another Pokemon is in your Active Spot, dealing damage to your opponent's cards.

Use cards like Sabrina or Cyrus to gust out Cosmog and knock it out before it becomes a threat.
Hitmonlee is also capable of 2HKOing a benched Cosmog, forcing your opponents to evolve right away or risk losing it.
