Status Effect
Poison Status Effect - Pokemon TCG Pocket Poison Take 10 damage for every turn
※ Cannot recover naturally

A pokemon afflicted with Poison will take 10 damage at the end of every turn. Unlike other status effects, a pokemon cannot naturally recover from poison nor can it be cured through a coin toss. This makes it a powerful status effect for long-term battles.

What is a Pokemon Check?

There is a phase at the end of each Player's turn where all pokemon with status effects will be checked by the game. If you have a status condition, the game will make you take damage, do a coin toss, or recover naturally.

Since checks happen on every change of turns, you can take poison damage during your opponent's turn.
