Professor's Research and Poke Ball are considered staple cards which are essential in every deck. Their ability to compress your deck makes them highly valuable, so be sure to include two of each.
List of Staple Cards for Every Deck

While Pokemon Communication cannot thin your deck, it allows you to search for Pokemon from your deck, making it extremely useful for Stage 2 decks. Iono lets you reshuffle your hand, making it another great option for Stage 2 decks.

Sprigatito can search for Grass Pokemon, and is not limited to only 50 HP like Caterpie, making it less likely to be one-shotted. Repeated use of Cry for Help can thin out your deck of Pokemon, and find evolutions for Sprigatito and its partners.
Additionally, its final evolution Meowscarada is a powerful attacker that only needs 2 energy to deal heavy damage to ex Pokemon.
