Alternate Card Suggestions

Alternate Cards Possible Cuts

Kirlia
(B2 064)

Kirlia can be slotted in the deck instead of Mars to increase the deck's consistency in setting up. Cut Mars if you value consistency over disruption.

Indeedee ex
(B1 121)

・Depending on your preference, you can swap one Diantha card for another Indeedee ex for better continuous healing.

Mimikyu ex Deck Strategy Guide

Protect Main Attacker With Disguise

Mimikyu ex's strength lies on its ability to block an instance of damage to buy enough time for a Benched attacker to prepare. Its Disguise Ability will completely negate even Mega Charizard Y ex's Crimson Dive.

Notes Regarding the Disguise Ability

・Only Attacks (those that take up a turn) can trigger Disguise.
・Attacks that deal damage to Benched Pokemon can also trigger Disguise.
Status effects, like Burn and Poison, will not trigger Disguise.
Abilities that deal damage, like Greninja's Water Shuriken, will not trigger Disguise.
・Retreating will not refresh Disguise. Its Ability can only be refreshed by putting Mimikyu ex back to your hand from the field (which is currently not possible) or by using Celestic Town Elder to retrieve it from the discard pile.

Goes Well With Peculiar Plaza

Setting up a Peculiar Plaza makes it easier for Mimikyu ex to escape and switch with your main attacker. You can also switch in another Mimikyu ex with an unused Disguise to block one more attack from your opponent.

How to Beat Mimikyu ex Decks

Pop Disguise With a Low-Cost Attack

Mimikyu ex's Disguise will block the first attack it receives regardless of how high or low its damage is. Try to disable this Ability ASAP with a low-cost attack to prevent it from blocking your strongest one.
