Galarian Obstagoon Deck Strategy Guide

Deals Increased Damage to Already Damaged Pokemon

Galarian Obstagoon is a powerful single-point card that can deal at least 120 damage to opponents that are not at full health. This synergizes with cards like Darkai ex and Rocky Helmet, as these enable Merciless Strike's effect without using up a turn.

Disrupt Energy Acceleration With Piers

Piers is a Supporter card specially made for Galarian Obstagoon decks. It discards up to 2 Energy from the Defending Pokemon as long as you have a Galarian Obstagoon on the board.

Stall and Set Up From the Bench

This deck needs a few turns to prepare to work, since Galarian Obstagoon is a Stage 2 Pokemon and you'll need to damage as many of your opponent's Pokemon as possible to get the bonus damage from Merciless Strike.

Stall the opponent with Chingling and pair it with Copycat and Professor's Research to get the cards you need as Chingling deals chip damage.

How to Beat Galarian Obstagoon Decks

Take Out Galarian Obstagoon ASAP

It would be difficult to stop Merciless Strike from reaching max damage by keeping your Pokemon at full health if either Darkai ex or Rocky Helmet is already in play.

A better strategy is to focus on taking out Galarian Obstagoon as soon as possible to prevent further beatdown.
