[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Misty and Manaphy can set up the primary attackers of this deck. • Palkia ex is great in the early game because of its 30 damage Slash. • Both Empoleon and Palkia ex can damage Benched Pokemon as well as the Active Pokemon. Weaknesses: • Weak to Lighting-type decks. • Makes use of Stage 2 Pokemon, which may require multiple turns to set up. |

Both Palkia ex and Empoleon can take out low HP Pokemon that have retreated to the Bench while dealing damage to the opponent's Active Pokemon. By using the energy acceleration from Misty and Manaphy, you can set up both Palkia ex and Empoleon at the same time.
X Speed also provides them opportunities to safely swap them out for each other.

Rare Candy can allow Empoleon to be set up immediately, skipping the need to evolve into Prinplup.

Misty and Manaphy can generate extra energy for your Water Pokemon during the early phase. Since both Palkia ex and Empoleon need a lot of energy to be fully adept on the field, using energy accelerators can speed up the process.

Palkia ex can use Slash if it has one energy. This makes it a very good early game attacker while you set up Empoleon on the Bench.

Empoleon's Aqua Jet can deal 30 damage to one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon. Switch in Empoleon if there are damaged Pokemon on the Bench that you can pick off for easy points.

Piplup and Prinplup have low HP so target them using Pokemon that can hit the Bench like Zebstrika. Alternatively, you can use Trainer cards like Sabrina or Cyrus to force them into the Active Spot where you can deal more damage.

Empoleon and Palkia ex are dangerous once they are fully set up, so use a fast deck like Pikachu ex to inflict critical damage during the early game. The Water-type Pokemon in the deck are all weak to Lightning, and Pikachu ex can be set down right away and uses minimal Energy. It also has Zebstrika, which can attack the Bench—disrupting key set-ups.
