It's ideal to have Tauros ex in your Active Spot as soon as possible in order to quickly knock out your opponent's Pokemon before they can set up. Darkrai ex is best used to support it from the Bench, and Hydreigon can be set up on the Bench to come in and clean up in the late game.
Once Tauros ex is all set up, it's best to attach your Energy onto Darkrai, and use Hydreigon's Ability to generate Energy for itself. However, this can make it vulnerable to being switched into the Active Spot with an opposing Cyrus, so it's recommended to only use its Ability when you're ready to swap it in yourself.
To prevent your Tauros ex from inflicting damage on itself, you can use Will to make sure the coin flip is in your favor.

![]() ![]() ・You can swap Will with a Rocky Helmet if you're willing to trade potential chip damage on Tauros ex for more damage onto the opponent. |

Tauros ex is best used in the early game, since you only need 2 Energy in order for it to deal 90 damage immediately. This allows you to easily knock out most Basic Pokemon before they can set up.
However, Tauros ex may struggle in the late game if it gets damaged from its ability and has to face Pokemon with high HP.

It's best to have more attackers in your deck that can deal a lot of damage to high HP Pokemon in the late game. These can be set up on the Bench while Tauros ex attacks from the Active Spot.

It's ideal to use Pokemon that are easy to set up yet are bulky enough to take attacks from Tauros ex such as Donphan ex, which only needs one Energy and one evolution. Mega Evolution Pokemon, such as Mega Pinsir ex, are also good to use since these have very high HP.

If you have Pom-Pom Oricorio in your deck, you can have it out in your Active Spot while you set up your big hitters on the Bench. This should prevent Tauros ex from overwhelming you in the early game.

Prevent Tauros ex from quickly going through your team by swapping it out of the Active Spot using either Sabrina or Cyrus. If the opponent is also using Hydreigon, you might even be able to swap in a Hydreigon damaged from its Ability and finish it off before it can attack.
Since Tauros ex has a chance of hurting itself, it's also easy to bring in a damaged Tauros ex to the Active Spot using Cyrus if the opponent tries to move it to the Bench.
