Machamp ex Deck Strategy Guide

Machamp ex Offense

Machamp ex and its pre-evolutions can attack every turn due to their efficient Energy curve. You may put them in the Active Spot to deal damage quickly. You can also opt to keep them healthy with healing or equipping the Giant Cape.

Use an Early Game Attacker

You may also opt to keep Machamp ex healthy in the Bench as it evolves. It is ideal to use a Fighting-type with an efficient Attack Cost such as Dugtrio.

How to Beat Machamp ex Decks

Have Healing Cards Ready

Mega Punch only deals 120 damage, which means bulkier Pokemon can survive one hit if they are at full HP. To keep your Pokemon out of OHKO range, you may heal them with Pokemon Center Lady or Potion. You may also opt to equip the Giant Cape.

HP Recovery and Healing Cards List

Energy Denial

Machamp ex decks do not have Energy accelerators. You may choose to make Machamp ex discard Energy so it would not be able to use Mega Punch. Beedrill ex can remove one Energy per turn while attacking. You can also opt to use Team Rocket Grunt, as lucky flips can allow you to remove all of Dondozo's Energy at once.

Attack Machamp ex for Weakness

Psychic-type Pokemon can deal huge amounts of damage to Machamp ex and its pre-evolutions. Mewtwo ex in particular is able to OHKO Machamp ex with the help of Red or Giovanni.
