Mega Mawile ex's Heat-Up Crunch gets more powerful after each use until it leaves the Active Spot. Since the opponent's deck consists of other Pokemon, it's easy to force Mega Mawile ex out of the Active Spot with Sabrina or Cyrus to reset Heat-Up Crunch's damage.

Be sure to remove any Metal Core Barrier attached to Mega Mawile ex before attacking it so it receives your attack's full damage.
However, since Galarian Perrserker can just recover the used Metal Core Barrier from the discard pile, make sure to only use Guzma when you're about to deal a decisive attack on Mega Mawile ex.
Alternatively, you can use this opportunity to pull a Benched Pokemon out with Sabrina or Cyrus to reset Heat-Up Crunch's damage, as well as waste the attached Metal Core Barrier.

Mega Gardevoir ex is played with Genetic Apex's Mewtwo ex in this deck as a way to set up OHKOs. Mega Gardevoir ex can consistently set up Mewtwo ex for multiple attacks, and retreat to safety thanks to Peculiar Plaza's Retreat Cost reduction.
Meloetta is the deck's ideal starter, as it can easily find you your key setup pieces with its Strange Singing Ability.
