The Pokemon TCG Pocket team has released a press release stating their plans for the game before the year ends and early in 2025 next year.

This was released in Pokemon TCG Pocket's official X account and in the official community forum of the game.

New Booster Packs

Pokemon TCG Pocket - Booster Pack

According to the developers of the game, new booster packs will be added to the game before 2024 ends.

No further details have been shared about these booster packs, but it can be speculated that these can either be a new expansion like Genetic Apex, or new booster packs that contain a small pool of new cards, like Promo Pack A Series Vol. 1.

Trading Feature To Be Added 2025

The team has also shared that the long-awaited trading mechanic will be added in the game on January 2025, but has noted that the feature will be limited on release and will be expanded in the future.

Although not explicitly discussed, the limitations for trading may mean that only cards belonging in the previous expansion, like Genetic Apex, are the only ones that can be traded, and any card from an expansion set cannot be traded while it is new.

This can also mean that only cards with a specific rarity, likely up to 3♢ or 4♢ rarities, can be traded, or that only duplicate cards can be traded away, much like how it works when using duplicated cards to make Flairs.
