Carnivine with Arceus ex is used in this deck because of their ability to deal a good 50 damage on your first turn.
Use Carnivine to weaken your opponent's Pokemon. Having Arceus ex on the Bench will boost Carnivine's damage output, making it deal 50 damage for only one Energy. When the opponent's Pokemon are at low health, switch in Meowscarada to finish them off.
This deck has a line of Crobat and Rare Candy which can be used to snipe opposing Pokemon for 30.

In addition to Arceus ex, this deck also features Oricorio as an attacker. It is able to counter ex Pokemon with its Ability, giving you a solution to some opponents that Arceus ex cannot handle.
While Oricorio can only deal 50 damage each turn, Crobat can help deal additional damage from the Bench with Cunning Link, provided Arceus ex is in play.
The Rare Candy gives the player the chance to have Crobat in play in earlier turns. Ilima provides a choice for you to safely return Arceus ex to your hand, preventing the opponent from scoring 2 points.

Rare Candy can allow Crobat to start using Cunning Link as early as your second turn.

Crobat's Cunning Link Ability lets you deal 30 damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon if Arceus ex is in play. Use to increase your damage output to as much as 160 in a single turn!

When Arceus ex, Crobat's frequent partner is ready to attack, start swinging for 130 with Ultimate Force. Use Giovanni to KO 140 HP Pokemon such as Darkrai ex, Moltres ex, or even other Arceus ex. To reach even higher numbers, you must successfully set up a Crobat on the Bench. You can also use Red for extra damage against 150 HP Pokemon such as Giratina ex.

Because Arceus ex is frequently played alongside Crobat, Fighting-types will always be a present threat to the deck.
Fighting-types are often difficult for Arceus ex to face off against. Gallade ex can easily knock Arceus ex out if it is already set up with three Energy, while Marshadow can OHKO it if a Pokemon was KOd the previous turn, and with the use of Red.
Best Gallade ex Decks and Card List

A deck with Pokemon like Magnezone and Skarmory can outpace Crobat decks with Skarmory's early pressure and Magnezone's ability to 2HKO Charizard with Thunder Blast.
Meowscarada can also KO Arceus ex with the help of Red, with Arceus ex being unable to KO it back without the use of Giovanni.
