Hydreigon boasts a number of powerful attributes. being a non-ex, single-point Pokemon that can deal high damage and accelerate Energy onto itself.
Being a Stage 2, however comes with the limitation of being difficult to set up and being reliant on multiple turns and finding Rare Candy.
This deck also runs non-ex Absol, whose Leap Over Attack can outright KO Mantyke and Magikarp.

Mega Absol ex, Mars, and the Red Card can all be used in this deck to disrupt your opponent's setup.
Although Mega Absol ex's Darkness Claw has a great disruptive effect, it lacks the power you may want in the late game. Hydreigon is here to make up for Mega Absol ex's damage output. Switch it in if you need to deal with high HP Pokemon or if you need to go up against Pom-Pom Oricorio.

This deck allows you to inflict Poison on your opponent in order to make up for Mega Absol ex's relatively low damage output. You can attach Poison Barb to Mega Absol ex in the Active Spot, then have Nihilego on your Bench to increase the Poison damage every turn.
Since you can use Mega Absol ex's Darkness Claw to get rid of some of your opponent's recovery options, this is a good way to deal damage over time. However, if you're in need of a large amount of damage in one move, you can attack with Hydreigon.

It's ideal to have Tauros ex in your Active Spot as soon as possible in order to quickly knock out your opponent's Pokemon before they can set up. Darkrai ex is best used to support it from the Bench, and Hydreigon can be set up on the Bench to come in and clean up in the late game.
Once Tauros ex is all set up, it's best to attach your Energy onto Darkrai, and use Hydreigon's Ability to generate Energy for itself. However, this can make it vulnerable to being switched into the Active Spot with an opposing Cyrus, so it's recommended to only use its Ability when you're ready to swap it in yourself.
To prevent your Tauros ex from inflicting damage on itself, you can use Will to make sure the coin flip is in your favor.

![]() ![]() ・You can swap Will with a Rocky Helmet if you're willing to trade potential chip damage on Tauros ex for more damage onto the opponent. |

Hydreigon can accelerate Energy onto itself with Roar in Unison. Once set up, it can use Hyper Ray to deal a massive 130 damage, with the minor downside of discarding Energy, which it can get back the following turn.

Cleffa can search for Pokemon with Twinkly Call, increasing the deck's consistency. This becomes even more effective after you have used your Poke Balls, because it ensures that you will only find evolution cards with Twinkly Call.
Because evolving into Hydreigon is the deck's core strategy, Cleffa's setup is a valuable tool in the deck's arsenal.

Non-ex Absol is a great option against low-HP Pokemon, particularly Mantyke and Magikarp. The option to KO these two Pokemon make the Absol a worthy inclusion to the deck.

Hydreigon with Mega Absol ex is also a strong combination. Mega Absol ex can discard your opponent's Supporter cards, severely limiting their options and disrupting their setup. Simply retreat Mega Absol ex into Hydreigon and score a KO to take your remaining points.
Best Mega Absol ex Decks and Card List

Because Hydreigon's Roar in Unison causes it to damage itself, it becomes easier to KO. Attack an Active Hydreigon for KO or gust out a damaged one from the Bench using Cyrus.
